My battery life is terrible since I updated my phone!!!! This is absolutely annoying. I use to go 10-12 hrs with out charging and since I'm lucky to get 5-6 hrs!

Is anyone on here having the same problem? Is there anything I can do? I turn everything off and only have my screen set at around 30%.

Yes, I have the same problem. When I bought my phone I thought the battery life was amazing, but since kit Kat update my battery is horrible. I'm trying to go back to 4.3 stock.

Don't know if it is just 4.4 Kit Kat. I am still on 4.3 and last week my "use to be amazing" Note 3 battery is no longer amazing either. My battery drains very fast now and I can find anything draining it...that is the scary part. I usually down to 70% only after about 3 hours. Use to I didn't hit that spot until after about 8 hours.

This started happening to me after the update. Clearly it's the dreaded camera daemon bug. Note my phone was barely used ever since being unplugged this morning.

I was having the same issues with my Note 3. My battery life was amazing when I got it earlier this year then AT&T updated me to KitKat and my battery life has gone to crap. I didn't even want to update, but it did it automatically. So, after a month of messing with my phone, I think I figured out why my battery is garbage now. I turned off Lookout a couple of days ago and my battery life has been much improved. I'm thinking that it was running in the background constantly and killing my battery. I think it's worth a shot.

I was having that problem, mine was often showing the gps signal. Clicked on it one time when it showed up, saw that a voice recorder app was using it, removed the app. I also switched off Lookout. Since doing so (3-4 weeks?) my standby battery life is consistently excellent, better than it's ever been. Battery drainage while I use the phone is not great, at least in part due to the poor function of the auto screen dim, but not terrible.

It's probably an app that is not working with kitkat, that was the advice I received and turned out to be right.

I just upgraded to kitkat a couple of days ago and battery life is unreal bad now, using the phone for about an hours web surfing on the way to work and it used nearly 20%
google services using more battery than the screen seem not right to me.
Kinda regret updating as there was nothing wrong with 4.3
Time to root and flash a custom rom instead I think, that did wonders on my note2 which had already amazing battery life.

Just upgraded to the 4.4.2 release and my battery seems about the same if not better than ever. I found out a couple of things about battery life. Keep your Wifi on if your in range. Keep your GPS and Bluetooth off if you don't need it. The 2 finger swipedown makes it easy to manage connections.

I also changed my sync setting on specific applications, such as email for Exchange. I don't need to sync my email every 5 minutes. I changed the schedule not to sync overnight or on the weekends.

I agree with the previous statement that a factory default may greatly improve battery life. This will leave your 4.4.2 intact, but many times solve issues. I had to do this with my recently upgraded Note 10.1 2014 edition to solve a video playback issue. Good Luck!

I've heard of a few people that did a factory reset right after the upgrade. They had similar battery drainage. It's a pain when you're already set up, but might be worth the effort.

I always factory reset directly after a FW update. My battery has been fine. It seemed terrible right after the update, but it was cause I was using my phone a ton (setting my apps back up, etc.).

I always do the reset.

Everything has been practically no different from before the update since I finished setting it back up and reboot the device.

I got the update yesterday and my Battery life has gone to hell. I used to go from 4 am to 8pm or later with no problem and my phone struggled to make it to 3pm today. It seems to just suck the battery down.

Don't really want to do a factory reset and going to try and hold off at least till the weekend because I need my phone up and running.
