Help S5 remorse growing

I'm seeing more ads like this on craigslist. People WANT a S5.
Hello, I am currently looking to purchase a Samsung Galaxy S5 for T-mobile or At&t.
Must be great condition!
Prefer to come with box and accessories.
Will give an offer for the phone depending on the phone and condition of the phone.
However, I have a t-mobile Iphone 5S great condition, comes with box and accessories I am willing to trade for a galaxy S5 for T-mobile.
So if your not happy with your phone, it is a very popular phone and if your past the 30 window to return it, you can advertise to trade for a phone you want as the S5 is a top 3 phone of all of them out there.

My remorse grows more and more every moment. I am so sick and tired of this keyboard. So, I type something very close to the word and it preselects the word (shown in center, in blue), so I click space and it enters something completely different...
Example. "sorry", I Hit "surry", and it spilled something else, so I backed up and corrected it, showed "Sorry" in the blue box, as the correct word, I hit space and it enters "ear" WTF is that! Is the word for predictive text not automatically entered, when you click space. It takes me twice as long to compose a legible message as it did on my iPhone. So glad to know that I am stuck with this thing for 3 years! I have checked the settings and they are all there to automatically punctuate, as well, the predictive text is on too.
Don't even get me started about missing group messages... which yes, I know, is an apple issue, but it's mind boggling!
I have one (two?) word for you: SwiftKey. :)

I feel like the odd one out that is actually enjoying my S5 a lot. I havent had any problems with it, other than transferring music from my old iPhone.

I'm really enjoying mine as well. I recognize the lag that it's infamous for, but I still think it's a great phone. Camera is amazing, water resistance is fantastic, and I just had the battery last for two full days of heavy usage without using either power saving mode. And in black, the dimpled back is actually good looking.

Complaints like this get to me sometimes! Most of the complaints are easily fixed with a little research, like this forum. Example, How is that keyboard issue Samsungs fault... all the phones have similar keyboard and keyboard choices.

You can solve your issue easily enough here:
How to turn on and off autocorrect on the Samsung Galaxy S5 | Android Central
Or simply change to another style keyboard.
I didn't like the predictive text either and changed it easily enough.

Didn't say it was Samsung fault. Talking about predictive text I like it. But if it picks a word that is nothing close to what was typed over logic then there's an issue. I've tried different keyboards. And I've used other platforms. Mt typing style hasn't changed yet on my apple device previous (other than some issres) the prediction was pretty good. Yes they all have faults. This is a remorse thread which I didn't start but only added my 2 cents. And I have researched and read forums. And since this device is relatively new there is very little. Anyhow I'm using a different keyboard now and it seems a little better at predicting English trends.

I installed SwiftKey free a couple days ago. That darn thing is so accurate with picking out my next words, that after 5 minutes, I unloaded it and bought the real version.

It is just awesome, and the swipe feature letting you write whole sentences w/o having to lift a finger off the screen? wow!

I've been using it for a day now and think the same thing, although, I still have to lift my finger... but I did type a whole sentence once by just tapping the middle selected word. A little worried about the vocabulary recognition from my Gmail though.

Upgraded (?) from an S3. So far, here are my gripes. Some may be easily managed, but what say you?

- lock screen doesn't stay on long enough to actually swipe fingerprint
- group play is lame with only one decent game and clunky UI. Why have to register and sign in and create groups to play air hockey?
- Swype auto correct is horrible
- WiFi seems to be very flaky, cutting in and out too much
- between AT&T, Samsung, Google, WAY too much bloatware
- larger form factor doesn't fit in my car cubbie any more.
- speaker phone is worse
- many camera functions don't work or don't work well.

On the other hand, it's way faster. Graphics are nice.

To make SwiftKey complete words w/o lifting your finger, you go to the Space Bar at the end of each word, that tells SK you are going to write a 'new word' now.

I found that in the FAQs on the SwiftKey website.

I restricted it from reading any of my emails, that is in the settings.
I only want it to learn what I say in text messaging.

I can't get my head around using the swipe feature. I'll have to read some more but definitely more friendly than stock.

Okay, I touch the first letter and then slide to the next letter, stop very briefly, then go to the next letter. If a letter shows up twice, like in "butter", then when you touch the 't' you slide up off the keyboard and then back down to the 't' again.

When you get to the 'r' in butter, you slide down to the Space Bar (this tells SwiftKey that word is done, let's do a new word), then you slide to the first letter of the next word.

You just repeat until you have finished your sentence or paragraph.

My old Galaxy 'S' used the same type keyboard and it came with the phone. So I was already used to using it.

But, SwiftKey's word prediction algorithm is eerily accurate. I think it gets at least 80% of my "next words" correct.

I'm sure as I use it, it will get better.

My apologies if this is old news... but since so much discussion here about Swiftkey... y'all know there's a new beta version out, yes? Biggest changes that I see are Evernote integration, Swiftkey Cloud (which will, I believe, save your prediction data to be used on mulitiple devices or updates) and, more importantly, new keyboard option that allows a row of numbers of the main keyboard. New SwiftKey beta update with Evernote and Google+ personalization

Pardon my ignorance, but what is "evernote?"

All I want is spell check and I turn off everything else. I don't need anything predicting what I'm going to say because a lot of the time I'm unpredictable.

Not if you use proper grammar. A huge portion of composing language is just getting the sentence together, and predictive typing is great at making that really quick and easy.

Most likely the single most important app on my phone and desktop computers.

It replaced my Palm Pilot as soon as it appeared on the internet scene.

Make a change to any note, and it appears within a short time on your computer or other device that has Evernote.

You can program the Sync Rate... check the menu settings

I was an Evernote fan until it turned into a bit of a pig and now I use Google Keep. It is pretty spartan, but they have slowly added in some useful enough features and I have finally uninstalled Evernote... Not as slick, but much lighter weight and does what I need it to do: quick archiving, lists, and notes that sync via cloud. If one uses some of the more advanced features of Evernote, Keep will certainly not be a good replacement. I love how many options there are these days...
