Root [Virgin Mobile/Sprint] overclock kernel V4 !

My Buddy installed this on his VM F3 on V6 and it freezes and turns off completely on him and reboots to the LG logo. (Full reboot.) It does it several times a day, whereas before it NEVER has. The phones not even two months old, lol. Do you have any idea why Robaho? Sometimes it does it from heat, but it isn't the case most of the time.

Been using this for a while now but i had to remove it, it caused major instability with my phone even with the stock speed it would cause random reboots. Temp was between 30-40c but it did get hotter during heavy use (navigation). The GPU seemed overtaxed for some reason.

I had similar issues. It works but occasionally it would seem to get 'stuck'. Would randomly drain the battery. Not sure exactly why, I reverted back to v2 for now. At least so I can determine if random battery drain is due to kernel or something unrelated.

It may be a problem in the kernel mpdecision. Although I have found other after drains related to recent google app updates. Clearing the cache on google services seemed to help.

I've been using this for about two weeks now and it is epic! Games and apps run like a dream. The only issue I've had is that it occasionally locks up while asleep. It has never locked while I've actually been using it, only when trying to wake it up. It happens once or twice a day typically. It really isn't much of a bother though, and overall it's spectacular.

uh, easiest way for rooted vm720 is probably:
-->install android terminal emulator (play store)
-->download/save V4 boot image to root directory of external sd
-->in android terminal emulator type:
su <hit enter to become root>
cd /storage/external_SD/

dd of=ls720.original.img if=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/boot

to save a copy of the existing boot image, and then the following to install the V4 overclocked boot image

dd if=ls720.overclockV4.lok of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/boot

---------
you can do it all on your rooted phone w/o PC....so easy! thanks, Robaho :)

how can i use this method to revert back to the non-oc kernal?
