Did you use the byod(bring your own device) process? whats the process like? does the tmobile galaxy note 2 have to be unlocked to work with metropcs?Do I need to just buy the sim card and it will work?

It really depends,
I bought my wife a brand new T-Mobile note 2 from Walmart tried taking to a metro store and was told it had to be unlocked before they would touch it. So found a guy to unlock and then the store put in a sim card and pressed some buttons and it was on metro pcs. A lot of folks on here have said they did not have to.
So get the phone also stop at a metro store buy the sim card take it home and try it, post back if it worked or not.

and they totally lied to you, I've done more t-mobile phones on metro without unlocking them, so you need to maybe go to another metro store because they dont know what theyre doing.

Hulk can chime in on this but I'm pretty sure they won't sell you the SIM without activating it. If you want to do it yourself, order online.

I can't speak on behalf of other regions, but in SoFlo, we sell sim cards without activating, but we do explain how lovely it is dealing with the metro pcs customer service with BYOD, so they generally activate in store.
