Help problem with sensor after lcd change

Hi everyone ;)
Could anyone help me out please it is really important !! Well basically I have dropped my phone and my LCD screen cracked. I took it to a local indian phone shop where they have changed the screen after a month's time (I know such a delay) but the phone doesn't ring when face down or in a pocket anymore, only vibrates. They have told me that it's a software problem and that the new LCD isn't compatible with the sensor and refuse to fix it as they don't know how. Could anyone help me out ? Could this be due to the fact that during the repair a piece of the glass went inside the operating system and the phone wouldn't even switch on so they had to keep sending it back to their workshop where numerous things got deattached such as the sim card holder thing as my sim didnt want to be read either until I complained and told them to fix it ? Thanks in advance.

IOW, they took your money under false pretense. If that's illegal in India, they give you back your money and you find a shop that knows what they're doing. (If it's legal for shops to steal money from customers, you'll just have to accept the loss of the money.)

No, all of that is due to the same thing - their incompetence. Anyone can claim to fix cellphones, but not everyone actually knows how to fix anything but the most obvious and simple problems.

It's why I advise people who are thinking of repairing their own phones not to do it - once you open the phone, unless you're experienced, you usually break things. It sounds as if that's exactly what happened - an inexperienced person broke your phone and the store refuses to accept responsibility for allowing inexperienced people to work on customers' phones. (But they probably save a lot of money that way - experienced technicians get paid a lot more than people who never actually repaired a cellphone, and customers rarely sue a company for something like this, even if the law is on the customer's side. Most customers take the "What can I do? I'll have to buy a new phone." attitude, and the store keeps getting away with it.)

(I would sometimes allow a technician with only a couple of month's training work on phones - some people - not many, but some - are good enough that they can learn that quickly. But my average technician worked under direct supervision for about 6 months before being allowed to work on his own. I had to charge more, but if a technician broke a phone we repaired or replaced it - and the technician paid for the repair or replacement. [And found a job somewhere else.] The customer never knew that there had been a problem - they got a working phone back.)

Thank you for your reply . I'm actually in England, I just tried to give you an idea of a kind of shop I went to. I was surprised that the guy told me that he found it really hard to repair the screen and even left the case with cracks and scratches where he pulled the LCD out. If it is due to their incompetence , do you think I can just solve it by contacting the trading services ?
