Verizon Kit Kat update downloading over 4gLTE?

I have so far done my best to reschedule and avoid the update until I am sure some of the bugs are worked out and I can continue to tether with FoxFi, however when I was at work today on 4GLTE (tethering) it started downloading the update (no idea how large the file is) and there was no way for me to cancel it. I left it alone and after awhile I received a pop up message indicating that I used my data for the month with an option to change my plan. I have unlimited data and use about 5-8GB a month and have never received a message like this before. Interestingly, I was able to still tether with FoxFi. Earlier in the day I copied a bunch of videos (3GB) to my Google Drive folder, and it was synching with the Note3 also.

1. Why did it download over 4gLTE? Is it supposed to do this?
2. Anyone have any thoughts on the message I received? I have unlimited and do not want to contact VZW unless I need to, I logged into the VZW mobile app and it still shows that I have unlimited....
3. Are the videos from Drive being copied to the Note3? I always thought they were in the cloud. Perhaps my data usage for the day was so high that I was flagged?

Thanks.

I'm not real sure about the Data Concerns.

I downloaded my update via Kies. It did take an hour or so to finish. When it finished i think my n3 was acting all sorts of funky. Touch screen wasn't responsive/phone would freeze up. I turned to the forums here for any clues on what may be going on. I ended up going with a factory reset and haven't had any issues since.

Maybe the thing with your data was just a fluke?

I believe it will try to push the update via LTE. I would do everything you can to prevent it from upgrading, you will lose FoxFi functionality, and I doubt it will work unless they update the app.
Check your settings for the data usage pop up. There is a setting that is user adjustable, mine is turned off, that will notify you once you hit a certain data usage threshold. I imagine with the software push, plus your normal usage, you hit the threshold your phone is set to.
You have unlimited data and only use 5-8GB a month? I use 150GB+ a month, I tether Netflix at home though. :D

I just checked the FoxFi website and it shows it is now compatible with the Note3, however, I am still reluctant to try the new update.

OK, if this is just a user data pop up setting then I will be relieved. I was afraid I got flagged somehow...however, I had no idea anyone came close to the data usage you use!!!!! This makes me think that I am not even on Verizon's radar. Are you also using FoxFi?

Thanks.

Oh man I really don't want to update and lose my FoxFi. I rely on that plus my unlimited to get me by everyday too... I don't think FoxFi's latest website acknowledges VZW's kitkat. I know recently the FoxFi update helped enable Wifi hotspot on the Note 3 but that was before VZW kitkat.

My phone is rooted and I'm running a custom ROM that has the native hotspot enabled. I did use FoxFi for awhile, but it's been over a year I believe. I figure I've been a customer of theirs for several years now and since they make me pay for my phone outright, I can use their network to the fullest...haha.
