I had to do a hard reset and hen it came back up the apps icon that I did have on the 2nd page is now locked on the front screen on the bottom. It won't allow me to move it anywhere nor can I delete it.

I want rid of this, thing! Or at least moved. I've a very very small smidge of OCD and it has yo go on the 2nd swipe screen.

Tia!!

Okay, I'm not entirely sure I fully understand your question or dilemma, but I think I do. Try this; swipe to your second screen, long press on the app drawer icon, then after it vibrates and is free floating, just drag it up to where you want it on your second screen. Hopefully this is what you were looking to do. If not, screenshots. :)

Screenshot - good idea. Let me try this.... At the bottom of the screen there. Since I had to do a hard reset this shows up now and it drives me BATTY!!! The apps icon that is. I can't even move it to the 2nd screen

FWIW: I can't move mine or delete it either. I think this is by design in the Stock Launcher. It's special.

If you could, how would you get to the App Drawer?

Any chance you were doing this with a replacement Home-Screen/Launcher app (where it's possible)?

I had not done any updates - on purpose, but with the hard reset I figure it is how it has to be. GRRRRR!!!!! I don't use the app drawer. I have it all on 2 screens and I use file folder. I hate having things strung out all over God's creation on my phone. I file it and place it how I want it. Some apps I don't even use so I don't want to see them.

Your phone is operating as it should. You want to do some things to tailor it further. You could try downloading Holo or Nova Launchers. There are others. Then you need to experiment.

BTW, you can hide things you don't want by disabling them. Be careful what you disable though. Settings | Application manager, then scroll all the way to the right till you see "All" then scroll down and select the programs in turn you want to disable and disable them. They'll then show in the Disable list (all the way to the right). By re-enabling them, their icons will show.

FWIW: the App Tray - it's one icon to programs that you don't use often. It's really not that obnoxious. I believe it's always been there (on previous revisions of the OS), so this should not be that new to you.

My thinking is you downloaded some custom launcher before and did it without realizing it. Or you got lucky (if you want to look at it that way) and you managed to find a way to do it.

But it's not advised. Look I can't move mine nor delete it. Do I want to try so hard that I end up having to FDR my device to recover the icon?

No.

Installing a custom launcher will allow more flexibility, but in the end you may lose because the LG specifics are pretty darn good. You aren't going to get that much more, but you can try and always uninstall one of these launchers.

I don't think hiding the app drawer icon is worth it, but you do and that's what matters.

Good luck.

I got hooked on GO Launcher years ago because it has a sliding dock that holds 15 icons with a swipe up action for each so the dock can hold 30 apps. I changed the homescreen grid to 6x5. That didn't work quite right so I changed the DPI from 480 to 440 (requires root). I used G2 Xposed to add a fourth soft button and long press options, and a centered clock with day and date. I use Multicon to put more icons in an area. I have 110 apps installed and only use the app drawer for two of them.
