[MOD]App2External_SD (Fixed Duplicate files)

After making the switch you will also have to make sure any app or game is now pointing downloads to the internal sd. A web browser is a good example; let say it's set to download all files to your external, now you'll need to go into settings for that app and change it to the internal. Just a thought, hope it helps.

Again, there's no option that I see for this.

I get to step 12 and 13 and get stuck or not getting something right.. The folder says permissions denied or whatever and it will not let me do anything to change that

I had this same problem. I went to SuperUser (Or superSu, whatever was installed) and saw that Smanager was somehow removed from the list. Try uninstalling Smanager, reinstalling and allowing it SU privileges when it prompts us, that's how I fixed it.

Yeah, I'm trying not to do it that way and stay "natural;" but, perhaps it's time for another partitioning... after all, it's been a while.

Also, I find the SM settings--i.e., SU and Boot--will be reset occasionally and not happen on reboots, forcing the storages to switch back. If I don't notice that and install apps, they're installed on the actual internal storage... both frustrating and irritating.

have you guys tried this app on the playstore?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=eu.codlab.int2ext
Root external2internal SD

I used it on my lg motion.
though, instead of switching my internal sd for the external micro sd like the app's developer claims it does...it unified both. so my phone doesn't even recognize my micro external sd card anymore. according to my phone it no longer exists.
but my internal memory is now 30gb of space.
I think it did this instead of switching sd cards because the lg motion's internal sd is emulated.

now, my lg motion had around 5.5gb of internal memory.
I had around or close to 3gb of apps installed. to check to see if external2internal app actually worked, I installed jet set radio game which is a 1.75gb game. yes I'm sure its a 1.75gb game even if that's not whats listed on the game's page on the playstore. after that I also downloaded a over 1gb game, super monkey ball 2 just to see if I would get a insufficient storage message from the phone. I didn't.
now, jet set radio alone should have caused the insufficient storage message since its almost 2gb on top of the 3gb of apps on the phone, but with supermonkey ball 2 included...trust me, that game is huge. over 1gb. even if the game's product page doesn't say so. there are post install downloads that need to be made....
anyway. no insufficient message from my phone which leads me to believe it works.
but,
but...Clean Master app states I only have 5.5gb of memory on internal and sometimes..just sometimes, gives me a insufficient/free space storage running low message. While system settings claims I have 30gb. but I think Clean Master is just plain wrong in not recognizing the change. because if Clean Master was right there would be no way for me to have been able to install super monkey ball 2 after already having jet set radio installed.
Those 2 massive games plus the already used up 3gb of apps already on the internal....it would be an impossible fit.
my phone would have burst from the seams if External2Internal really didn't truly work.

haven't tried this app on my mom's rooted lg optimus f6 yet. I will this Thursday.
p.s.
it took me 5 long hours to downgrade her phone from 12b to 10i, root it, and make it a part of her phone's system settings.
(-_-)
don't ask why. it wasn't my fault it took that long. nothing was responsive including my pc that night. multiple tries for every step. its a long story.

edit:
here is what my phone's storage in settings states:
INTERNAL STORAGE
TOTAL SPACE 29.71GB
APPS 5.14GB
PICURES,VIDEOS 3.26GB
DOWNLOADS 73.16MB
MISC. 6.53GB
AVAILABLE 17.60GB

SD CARD
___________________________________

"THERES JUST A LINE AND MY PHONE CANT SCROLL IT PAST IT." as if there's nothing there.
when before like any other phone with a micro sd card installed it use to say 32gb with 26gb free and available. AND SHOWED THE BAR GRAPH OF AN SD CARD.
though when I go into apps it states I only have 1.9gb available of free space for storage of apps.
i'll download a 2gb game as soon as I can to see for sure.

2nd EDIT:

OK! IT WORKS! 100% FOR SURE!
I DOWNLOAD THE KING OF FIGHTERS 2013 WHICH IS A 500+MB GAME AND I DOWNLOADED THE DARK KNIGHT RISES A 1.8GB GAME.
RESULTS.
IN SETTINGS,
INTERNAL STORAGE
APPS 7.60GB!!!!
which is impossible on a lg motion!
when I go into apps, it says
3.7gb used------1.9gb free
which is IMPOSSIBLE!
JUST LOOK.
THE DARK KNIGHT RISES 1.82 GB
JET SET RADIO 1.75GB
THE KING OF FIGHTERS 653MB
SUPER MONKEY BALL 2 366MB(NOT COUNTING THE OBB DATA WHICH IS LIKE 500+MB THAT GETS STORED IN INTERNAL)
ADD IN THE 100+ OTHER APPS ON MY PHONE....

it works.

Tried ^this^ app, but had no love... when looking through its comments, one sees it's really hit-or-miss if it works. And, not just between phone makes, but within models as well; meaning, it might work on one F3, but not another.
when you say it didn't work, do you mean you managed to swap memories and you still got an insufficient storage available message?
or that you didn't manage to activate the app to begin with?
did you change its code to 179:33 in the "the ext. sdcard device access" box?
for north American android phones, most but not all of the time, the last 2 numbers after 179: should be changed to 33.
mine was 49 before I changed it.
yeah, its true the last 2 digits for the card access are different for different phones. like for Eurasia the code is 97 instead of 33 most of the time.

One time, the first; another, the second.

Yeah... the change didn't seem to matter.

if you remember I said my phone didn't recognize my sd card. Like I didn't even have one. Which was true. After I tried to use GL to SD root app(which didn't work btw) the storage info changed.
Pretty much just like yours.
I don't think it really matters...the info regarding your external sd card storage. Just ignore it.
Its like when you click apps...its gonna tell you you still have around 5.5gb of storage space for apps. Even after you install large sized 2gb games it will remain the same/unchanged.
For ex,
my Apps says I have 7.59gb---which is correct.
when I click apps it says 3.7gb used 1.9gb free---which isn't correct.
After downloading a 2gb game those numbers didn't change
still says 3.7gb used 1.9gb free
So.....
the only numbers that reflect what your actual space is the one you listed in your pic. Forget what it says about your sd card or when you click any of the subdivisions.

it just seems to be unifying both memories...that's all.

so how do you deal with the duplicate music files and pictures and things?

so how do you deal with the duplicate music files and pictures and things?

I personally would leave it alone since I'm not sure if the info about whats on the external sd is a reflection of whats on the internal.
like if you have a file on the external mirroring whats on the internal.

so if you use a file manager like lindroid and you look at all the folders on your external it might just be a mirror reflection of whats on the internal. vica versa.

ie, if it doesn't say its a duplicate file with the "dup." I wouldn't delete it. if it says "dup." before the folder's name its ok to delete.

right now I'm trying to figure out why my phone lets me dl any sized app with no limit while my mom's phone is still giving me a "insufficient storage space available" when I already fixed her memory issues with the external2internal app. mine's a motion while hers is a optimus F6. it shouldn't be giving me that response when I've done everything correctly.

mmmm.
Download SD Maid from the playstore. use its App Control.
click it and run its appcontrol.
look through the list of all your apps and check to see if you have any apps that have root privileges and that involves itself in some way with a mounting process. Something like for example, GL to SD root, or directory bind, cache 2 sd, etc etc....which might have autostart enabled to the app, or running constantly.
either freeze/kill these root privilege apps or click turn off autostart to the apps. Its not necessary to uninstall/delete them. with clicking freeze/kill or turning off its autostart option will be enough.
Point is it might be a root privileged mounting/sd manipulating app that's blocking the external 2 internal app.
like I tried to use gl to sd root app and it cancelled out the external2internal app! turned it right off.
Keep in mind external 2 internal app doesn't have the ability to become part of system settings...so any app like it that manipulates the external sd card can block it from working.
wish you luck

Hello All:

I bought two F6 for my teenage boys. Applied this mod to both phones and it worked on both, then stopped working on the other.

I reset device and started over.... several times with no success.

after reset, I re-rooted device, copied the init.d APK to the external sdcard and ran itenabling init.d support, granting SU access, then verified. Copied 11extsd2internalsd to init.d directory and change permissions to 777 rwx for owner, group, others. Open smanager, enable su and root, save and exit. Then I reboot and nothing happens. Every time it still says Internal Storage 1.27GB and External Storage 29.27GB.

Any ideas?

Thanks!
