Root [Sprint] Can't update after unroot

I was rooted on the original stock rom. I fully unrooted and flashed the stock recovery and attempted the ota update but it shows the red exclamation mark. It says "system/bin/app_process has unexpected contents"

I had xposed installed with a few modules. I uninstalled xposed & all of the modules &
any app that required root access, but I still get the error.

Does anyone have an idea what I have going on?

Thanks

Since it was rooted before, all you really did was just remove all the root stuff. Think of it as breaking a window. When you root a phone, you gain administration rights to your phone. So you broke a window. When you removed root and the xposed modules, you basically just cleaned up the mess you made, but never put up a new window. Thats why the ota doesn't go through cuz it sees that break in the system caused by root. You need to use an RUU to restore your phone to complete stock. Are you s-off?

I'm not with Sprint. I'm with cspire which is a Sprint variant. Cspire is slow about updates which is why I was just now updating. We are lucky to see sense 6 this year.

Whoa they have another side company? I haven't heard of cspire. I have heard of boost mobile, virgin mobile, and ting. But oohh so you removed the app process.orig and just added the .orig extension to the other app process file?

Well it's really just a regional carrier like cricket. It's based out of MS.

No, it's the other way around. I removed the app_process file since it was the file that was modified with xposed. I took the app_process.orig file and removed the .orig from the filename. It became the original app_process file that was there before I installed xposed or even rooted for that matter. Basically the .orig file was a backup and somehow xposed did not restore it when I uninstalled it. That's why I got the update error.

Oohh I see and oooohh so because of that, you were able to update and keep your apps and stuff without wiping the phone?
