Help LG G2 is not turning on when tapping on screen

There's a new upgrade that came out today, and it's all for the "knock on/knock off" feature. Go to settings>display>lockscreen>select screen lock. Tap on the last one, and it should have a selection for knock code. Select that one and follow the directions. It works perfectly. If you haven't gotten the upgrade, you will very shortly. Good luck.:p

im having the same problem, no knock on. Knock off works fine. I have also noticed that the upper parts of the digitizer doesn't like to respond in certain apps. Mainly Play store, when i have app updates it doesn't respond to touching the update button. I have to rotate the phone for ti to function. Also the gallery app opening the top row of folder and top row of pictures take a couple very solid taps to open. Could this be something in the Kitkat update? Everything was fine before i updated a week or so ago. I just noticed the issue a couple days ago. I did a clean update with a fdr.

Edit: Best i can tell if you're not verizon a touch firmware update should fix your issue. If you are verizon, warranty replacement is going to be the best option. Sounds like the dead spot issue is hardware/ digitizer related.

Hollywood, you posted something interesting in the VZW forums. I tried to reply but couldn't this morning.

I think you are correct about the dead-spot being hardware related, and so, what is the different thing about the VZW model?

Curious... have you been charging the phone wireless with a Q-compatible wireless pad?

I wonder if heat or the magnetic field flux is causing the digitizer to fail when someone uses a wireless charger.

It's also possible, the VZW digitizer/screens were lotted from another source and prone to fail.

I do not use wireless charging. However I do think the lcd/ digitzer assembly is different for the vzw variant. When you look for a replacement it always notes for or not for vzw. I just wonder if something in the update caused excessive heat or something leading the hardware failure in the screen. The dead spot issues definitely seems Verizon specific. I wonder if maybe its batch relate, kind of how some of the common issues with the Spectrum seemed to be.

I think in my case I need to get a replacement. I think the Digitizer is going bad. The Knock on quit working and when you try to swipe down when screen is on it doesn't always grab. This is the second time I've had to replace a phone for a bad digitzer.

Mine was ding the same thing. If you open the notebook app and draw vertical lines, you will the dead area across the screen where touches do not register.
