Still waiting for sense 6 for my Verizon HTC One Max!

Dammit!

And when we get it we will wish it never happened!

I have been using the stock browser for the text reflow, it seems google is removing it all together but HTC left it in the stock browser and a very few others have it but I need either the stock but preferably chrome browser and chrome does not do it anymore:mad:

But from what I have read even email apps (stock or non) have stopped working the text reflow BUT HTC at least kept it in for us SO FAR.

Can any sprint owners or anyone with the official update PLEASE verify if text reflow is back for chrome or at the least is still good for the stock email and stock web browser? I can live with that at the least.

text reflow
See here
https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=62378

Text reflow is when you pinch to zoom then double tap on the text to reflow text to fit the screen.

.

Nah, I generally enjoy the updates and what they bring to the table. There will be hiccups along the way if course, but that is the price of having the latest and greatest.

I would love to have text reflow back in Chrome, but I ain't losing any sleep over it honestly

Sprint, latest updates, stock, non root.

Text reflow looks to be working on Chrome.

did you notice it not there before the update?

Yes you are right, the last update took a lot of text reflow away but the ones I can use is fine, and it also took away some sd card files writes/deletes but so far I have not written to the card since I installed it, so .... Then it did fix other stuff so..

I hope we verizoners get text reflow back in chrome tho, but I can not live without it in the stock browser/email apps that we have now. So when the update comes I will be looking for your input on both of these PLEASE!!

Yes Verizon sucks with respect to updating software. In fact I don't know why I have been a member of Verizon for so long. They charge the crap out of you for every stinking thing, I get terrible service in buildings while I watch people with Sprint talk away with no problem at all. The only real good thing is the 4G service, which I have to say is excellent. I guess that is the only reason why I stay with Verizon other than the wide variety of phones they always seem to have.

Traditionally Verizon service penetrates buildings better do to the lower frequency.

I now am in need of this update, I noticed my gps and overall verizon signal just sucks lately, I do not want to wipe my phone until I get the update, but maybe my sim card is bad, I had one do the same on another samsung phone and verizon replaced it and all was good so???????

Go ahead and get a new Sim, then factory reset after sense 6 ota

I got kitkat 4.4.2 update and no new luncher??? What is that?

that update we received months ago, what we are talking about is sense 6 update we have 5.5 i be leave, sprint I think has it now ( I think), but us verizon people are still waiting for verizon to bloat it down on us, before they give it to us.

Here is another article on text reflow removal by google.

[Bug Watch] Text Reflow Removed From WebViews In KitKat, Probably Not Coming Back

I just don't get it. It seems the A removed it 3 or 4 years ago so there should be no patent.

I just hope HTC keeps implementing it on most stock apps like they did for us here.

Last I checked, reflow was still alive on Chrome on the phone...

I used to use chrome all the time until I lost the text reflow with that on the last update, if yours works, I need to know why and how? I would be in heaven if we could get chrome to text reflow again for me.

I have verizon what do you have?
I have
4.4.2
sense 5.5
software # 2.16.605.2
htc sdk api 5.69

do you see any setting in your chrome that you activated?

I have tried chrome and chrome beta and neither will reflow text now for me. But PLEASE prove me wrong PLEASE!!!!

Thank You!!!!

edit: the more I look into this, It seems that ONLY HTC seems to support it, I know my samsung s3 and note 2 and all newer never did, one major reason I came to HTC, besides HTC has lots less BLOAT. Even the big A has removed it 3 or so years ago from what I am finding, WOW I must be the only person in the word that can't see small writings anymore, I wonder why some older people like me wear glasses to read, they must be all faking it so I don't look bad?;)

Well so far this update made my phone fast and snappy, like brand new without a total wipe so far, I'll see how it goes with signal now, this past weekend before the update signal was just horrendous.

Fonts are smaller, mail app I like the new

No text reflow back in anything that did not work before the update, but at least text reflow has not been removed from what had it before the update

After the update, there are a bunch of updates needed in the Google Play Store. HTC BlinkFeed, HTC Gallery, HTC Sense Input, HTC Sense Input-Z-H, HTC Sense TV, HTC Service Pack, and Zoe Beta. These are pretty big files. I will let you know if I notice any changes. But, like dfran1 said, the phone feels quicker and more responsive. The interface looks cleaner. Web browsing on WatchUSeek site is much improved. But, there is a slight lag as the browser loads the page. it is maybe 1 to 2 seconds longer. but, the browser handle Desktop versions of site much better. The other thing I have noticed is a lot of changes to the camera app.

Glad to see its being pushed finally.

Gonna have to power the OneMax up and update it!

What are you using?

After a day of this new update, I must say it is nice and snappy just like new and without a wipe also!!! and like BadMedicine said the browser does seem to chug on some (few) sites, otherwise it is smooth (Chrome beta seems smooth), maybe someone will find a fix to that browser lag (tho not that big of a deal at all).

Everything else is much snappy now, so far. The new font made everything smaller so I set the font to large and that fixed most but not all (this is only to make things bigger, so I don't have to put on glasses), BUT I am liking the small font, training my eyes to see it.

I do have one remote app i use and it used to fill the screen and now it is in the middle of my screen, say a good 1/2 boarder of nothing, but not that big of a deal either.

As for the radio it seems better but time will tell, I still have to make sure it fully communicates with my car, test that this weekend.

What are you using?

A undisclosed test device ;)

I know now. My ooopppss! I take it there is no root tool working for the Verizon One Max on stock Sense 6 yet?

Peek around in root section, I'm sure there are some answers to be had.

On a side note, I can't get the update over wifi without phone being activated it seems. Guess I can wait a bit :(

EDIT:

any rooting discussions should be directed to the rooting section:
