Font size on icons, low vibration, and launchers

Week old S5 on Verizon. Works ok, with a couple exceptions. I've found
workaround for most of the things that are a problem, but there are a couple:

My wife is using Easy mode on hers because on the "normal" S5, the icons are OK, but the font on the icons is miniscule. HOW do I increase the font size on the icons - NOT the system font or whatever, which appears to have no effect on the fonts of text under icons, but the font that's under each icon? If necessary the icon could get bigger, but the font needs to be larger for her.

Vibration. Or rather non. Wife is coming from a Blackberry, which vibrated like crazy. At work she HAS to keep the phone on vibrate. No ringing, no beeping, no noisy notifications... She can't feel this thing vibrate. In the case, nope. In her pocket, nope. On the table in front of her, nope........ It DOES vibrate, but is there some set of settings we can use to increase it significantly? She has "Sound mode" set to Vibrate. "Vibration Intensity" is turned all the way up for everything. I can't ever tell when it's vibrating either, but I have sounds on and everything turned all the way up... It's not great, but I can usually hear it - although, in any case we've tried, even that's really faint. So, is there some combination of settings that'll provide significantly more vibration than we're currently getting?

Nova Launcher. I thought it might be possible to do more customization in Nova rather then the default launcher. Installed fine, but when I told it to import from another launcher, and selected Touchwiz, I lost almost ALL my home page icons. All that's left is settings, and apps on the bottom line. Everything else is gone. I also had groups to organize my apps, and all the groups are gone, as are all the apps I turned off, so I'm back to seeing 5 pages of apps... Is this the way Nova works - gets rid of all the home page stuff and restores all the pages of apps, or is there something I need to do differently?

I've read a half dozen things on the Internet that INSIST the phone will answer if raised to the ear. I cannot get mine to do that. I've tried Motions and Gestures and half a dozen other things, and I can't get it to answer by swiping my hand OR by raising it to my ear. HOW do you get the thing to actually answer without hitting the home button, 'cause I even read the MANUAL to see how to answer by raising the phone and I STILL can't figure out what combination of settings makes it work.

I grabbed a small, spare SD card (32GB) and stuck it in the phone, presuming I could move a BUNCH of stuff to the SD card.... In Application Manager it showed me a list of a half dozen of the bunch of apps I've installed. All the rest have "Move to SD card" grayed out. SO, how DO I put things like Photo Gallery and all the images on the SD card? Or have the phone store messages there since everything I've read says incoming messages and mail and stuff will fill the 16GB phone. Or even have it KEEP all my contacts on the SD card? I can't move the contacts app, but shouldn't I be able to shove just about any data an app uses over there? Otherwise, why would anybody waste the money on a 64GB or 128GB card if everything has to stay on the handset?

Wow, that is quite a list for one post:

First of all, you MUST download Kies 3.0 and make backups of the phone before you start getting too wild at changes. Sounds like it is too late for some of the stuff you lost. You must use the USB 3.0 cable or it won't work.

My first solution was to make sure that the names are ALL CAPS. Easy to do for Folders, doable for names sometimes. I had a font pak downloaded, but it disappeared.... maybe it would not do the icon names either and I got rid of it? Anyway, I have set the System Font to Huge. 72 y/o eyes ya know.

I set it for MAX, but it is a weak kitten.

Nova Launcher.
I tried KK Launcher, went back to TouchWiz because it lost all of my homepages.... luckily TouchWiz had them backed up.

I have not tried that, did not want it. I turned OFF all Motions & Gestures

A file manager will move things to the SD card, but Kit Kat has severely crippled the ability of apps to store things on the SD card.

I don't have one yet, debating if it is worth getting one.

Thanks for the reply.

Actually, I have Kies, but didn't need to use it to restore. Nothing is actually lost, it just doesn't show up in Nova. Which is why I was asking about whether there's some setting I need to use when transferring from TouchWiz. At the moment, to use Nova I would have to recreate everything, which is a lot more trouble than it's worth. But, everything is still set up when I switch back to the default launcher, so no problem with backup.

BUT, I'm still curious to try what many have said is the "best" launcher, and would like to know how to get Nova to actually transfer all my setup stuff.

As for font size. I've got Hifont installed. It's one of the things I tried to increase the font size for the icons. I haven't found any way to get the font's on the icons to change size. For example, on the home page there's an icon for "Phone" or "Contacts". In easy mode, the icon is larger and the word "Phone" or "Contacts" is larger. I'm not particularly concerned about having the icon larger, but how do I use Hifonts or some setting to make the text larger? "Phone" or "Contacts" or whatever?

Your response on the non-vibration sounds like the others I've read, which is unfortunate. At present, my wife has tried both a soft case and a hard case, and she can't feel the phone vibrate in either. As it stands, she virtually never answers the phone because she can't feel it vibrate.

Sounds like I can save a few bucks and not bother buying a large SD card if I can't shove a lot of what accumulates over to there.

Anybody else know the incantation to get this thing to answer when placed to the ear? Or to reliably answer when using the hand gesture (not that one, the one where you swipe over the phone...)?

Again, thanks for the replies.

I'm NOW trying to hunt down HOW to get voicemail notifications to repeat,
'cause since she doesn't feel the phone vibrate she needs something to vibrate until she notices she's got a voicemail. Near as I can tell, the S5 doesn't have a setting (at least not that I can find) to repeat voicemail notifications...

Anybody else have any thoughts?
