Thats true, but unless im having a blonde moment, i can't seem to remember how you would stop the update from downloading and constantly being in the notification o.o?

It's pretty easy... Just download and install, "Disable Service" app from the play store. Open the app, then go to "system apps/Google Services Framework/" and un-check "System Update Service". You could also edit it manually with a root browser.

4.4.4 was release just this past Thursday and provides a patch to an OpenSSL security vulnerability as well as a new radio.

Likely not. Some people have reported that the 4.4.4 radio is a little better than the 4.4.3 radio, so that might be the only thing.

I think there might be a bug with the radio, on T-Mobile when my phones comes off lte it has trouble switching back from H to lte.

If it's with the new one, I have yet to be hit by it since I haven't traveled to an HSPA only area yet. Unfortunately, there's not many areas like there were I live; it's either LTE or EDGE.

First day on 4.4.4 and the battery is on red after 6.5 hours of fairly low-level use - bit of messaging, social networking, browsing. Normally takes 10-12 hours to get to this point.

Anyone else noticed this?

Is there anything obvious that's now running that wasn't before? Battery usage seems to suggest that it's mainly Facebook, but I haven't used that any more than normal.

Sometimes taking an ota will cause apps to misbehave and thus cause battery drain. Though painful, it is usually highly recommended to perform a factory reset after taking an update.

If you have the battery guru app it'll take a day or two to recalibrate after an OTA update.

My first 2 days on 4.4.3 were shocking. Day 3 it was back to normal

Thanks, will try that in a day or two if it doesn't sort itself out.

Mine was the opposite, I seemed to be using more battery under 4.4.3 and it is better (back to normal) with 4.4.4.

Of course, now I have to decide if I want to try (if available for me) the Android L preview.
