It's very quiet in this section of the forum so i'm happy to announce that i'm a new Samsumg Note 3 Neo owner. I picked up my Note 3 Neo last week whilst on holiday abroad at a slightly cheaper price than the UK (saving around 20%). I also got a really nice flip case that replaces the back cover on the phone and has a book-style front cover with a see-through area for checking who's calling you and also answering the phone with the cover closed. A screen protector was also thrown into the deal but I probably won't use this.

To my surprise the plug for the power adapter was a UK 3-pin plug.

I ordered a 64GB Micro-SD card for the phone and had to apply to my phone provider for a replacement Micro-SIM card as the SIM in my old Samsung Galaxy S II was a full-size SIM.

On order are a nice desk stand for the phone and a third-party mains charger to use as a spare (ordered from MobileFun).

I've spent a few days setting up my Note 3 Neo. I already have a Samsung Galaxy S II phone and a Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet. I bought the Note 3 Neo to effectively replace both.

It was cheaper than the larger Note 3 so is a slightly lower spec than that.

So far i've done the following:

1. Check for updates (no new updates as it already had the latest software on it;
2. Get as many of my old phone and tablet apps onto it as I could;
3. Configure all the apps;
4. Put my music onto it;
5. Pair it with my Polar heart-rate monitor (used with Endomondo Pro) and my car's Bluetooth;
6. Transfer my image galleries from my old phone onto it;
7. Had a long Skype video call on it - worked really well!

My To-Do List:

1. Try out the new features on the phone;
2. Play with the S-Pen;
3. Try out Endomondo on cycle rides and jogging/walking to see how accurate the GPS is and whether it picks up my Polar heart-rate monitor;
4. Try out the camera for still and video recording;
5. See whether web browsing on the phone is acceptable and can replace my much larger Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1;
6. Watch some movies on the Neo 3 to see whether the experience is acceptable compared to watching them on my Galaxy Tab 10.1.

Thoughts so far:

1. Not too big and feels comfortable in the hand;
2. No issues encountered so far in migrating from my old Samsung Galaxy S II phone;
3. I had to use several third-party apps to get my image galleries and music from my old Samsung Galaxy S II phone across to the Note 3 Neo (Photo Transfer app and WiFi File Transfer app - I paid for these to get the full versions and used my Mac as a staging server so copied from the SGS II to Mac and then from Mac to the Note 3 Neo);
4. Kies is rubbish!!!
5. Skype is fantastic on it! A lot better than I expected;
6. There is tons of Samsung's own bloatware on it and you can't get rid of it;
7. Battery life is good so far - two days before a recharge. I'm being careful not to keep the charger plugged into the phone after the battery has been fully charged;
8. The phone is MUCH faster than the SGS II - no surprises there;
9. No crashes so far.

I'm hoping to hear from other Note 3 Neo owners in this forum with their experiences.

A quick update from me for items on my 'To-Do' list:

- The cameras are great - both front and rear cameras take pretty good pictures
- Endomondo works well with my Polar HRM
- Movies are very watchable - i've got MX Player Pro installed and use that for movies
- Battery life is very good

I've also streamed audio via Bluetooth to my car's stereo and it's great! I use Poweramp for audio.
