Hey guys, I'm new to lg and was wondering if there's a program or something you guys use to restore your phone in the event if a brick or something of the sort using download mode.
I don't want to start messing with the recovery partition or anything like that until I know I won't turn my phone into a paperweight.

If you have ever worked with samsung, then our equivilent of ODIN would be LG Flash Tool. I actually have the files to restore the Boost version (ls740) back to factory stock from brick.

I am holding off on publishing the link till the Monday but I can supply it via Private Message

Hopefully by then I can figure out how to get my donations link up and working LOL (Had to pay for the file, nm the hours and hours of combing the web / interwebs).

System dumps of the
Virgin Mobile
Boost Mobile
Universal *stock*
versions will be coming by this monday as well!

:D

Let me guess. This only works with Windows?

Prepping to post link now, sorry internet went down in my house and required rewiring the system, plus killing quite a few nasty things living above and below!!! tot file plus dll are inbound asap.

Item 1: The tot file!:1.17 gb! remember to backup efs parition and do a full nandroid asap! Note this is the boost file but it seems that simply activating the phone will download proper firmware to modify it to respective carriers.

Item 2: DLL files and lg flash tool.

Item 3: INSTRUCTIONS:
LG G2 Stock Firmware (Go Back to Stock) - xda-developers

Happy unbricking!
Highly suggest that we mirror these as many places as possible to avoid any "issues".:p

I can tell you personally that this does work. I have used it to unbrick my phone several times. I am currently running with build.prop edited to open for carrier which removes the boost branding. What we need is a way to sign a update.zip so stock recovery will take it and reset the phone model in build.prop. This is still a major issue over in the g2 forums. the model in build.prop gets corrupted and then the phone wont take the TOT.

After attempting the install go ahead and do a hard reset, I had to do it twice before the phone would boot properly. This new mini-os is something I have never dealt with and I have zero experince developing in this arena. We need to try and get autoprime, playfulgod, iomonster and them involved if we want this thing opened up.

I know where I can get a file that explains how to alter the dll's to ignore the version mismatch but it costs several hundred dollars and I simply do not have the financial means to buy it and pray for reimbursement.

The dll would benefit the entire lg community, but as autoprime said he has barely recieved any donations for ioroot and his work on the g2. :(

Viper,
1.put the phone into dl mode,
2.select manual mode in lg flash tool. select he dll and tot.
3.click the button to start and it will start a md5 / hash check of the tot.
4. If needed click on device manager, select the port its on then advanced and set it to port 41 / 42 / 43 etc. they all work.
5.after its done and it says ready, pull the usb cord out of the computer,
6.then after 1 second reinsert.
7.It will take a few seconds but the download will start.
8.Even if it says download failed try a hard reset to force a clean system and try again.
9. Remember to disable all firewalls, antivirus, etc. just in case!

I have a bricked volt and same here factory status 2. however it is a virgin mobile volt.

everything seems to go good until its time for the phone to reset. I get a usb port open fail message after the waiting to reset 20 seconds one. then i get 00000064 followed by error usb port open fail.

tried multiple factory resets along with clearing out the catch, disabled anti virus, ran flash tools as admin, nothing seems to help.

I'm on Boost...this Factory Reset Status 2'd on me as well. F*CK Can't even factory reset in the recovery menu.

When I tried to do it with only the files in your links, it would let me use the LGFlashTool without a login and password. I downloaded a modified MegaLock.dll from XDA to get past it. Could that be the issue? I really need to get this fixed, and I'm assuming that I can't take it back at this point.

Same problem I'm having and I'm on boost FML lol
