Just got my phone yesterday and after a day I'm loving it. As soon as I got the phone I called Metro Pcs and without any problems my Moto was running and connected. There are more pros than cons in my opinion. I coming from the following phones, in order as I owned them; LG Optimus M, LG Esteem 4G LTE, LG Spirit 4G, Nexus 5 (returned with bad pixels) and Alcatel Fierce 4G. And now the Moto G 4G LTE!!! It came with 4.4.3 out of the box, LTE, SD Card slot, etc. Again in my opinion It's worth it. My total was 233.00 with taxes included and FedEx free delivery. If you looking to upgrade check this phone out. Thumbs up!!!

I am envious. Mine was supposed to be delivered yesterday but they hadn't even shipped it. Called Motorola to see what was going on with my order and it turns out that the demand for this phone was far greater than they expected and they are scrambling to build phones and fill orders. I was told it would be another 3 days before it ships. I guess this is real good for Motorola though. It might say something about the importance of SD cards to most people as well.

I finally got mine this morning. It was only two days later than originally promised so I really cannot complain. Mine also came with Android 4.4.3 already installed and I am assuming that if you are ordering one directly from Motorola, it will have the latest version of Android on it. I am also with MetroPCS/T-Mobile USA and it only took them about 10 minutes to configure a SIM card and transfer the phone number that my old CDMA MetroPCS phone was utilizing over to the SIM card. I am pleased with the phone so far. Considering how much money this phone did not cost me...it is a serious bargain. Lots of bang for very few bucks. I do have an issue with the WiFi though. I have a dual band WiFi router and have it setup to provide WiFi on both the 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz frequencies. It looks like the WiFi in the phone only works on the 2.4Ghz frequency though. I cannot see the 5Ghz side of things via this phone. It also appears that this phone will work with WPA encrypted networks but not WPA2. It will see networks utilizing WPA2 (as long as the are 2.4Ghz networks) but it will not attach to them. I am a bit bummed about the lack of 5Ghz support since there is a HUGE bandwidth difference but I am sure that this is one of the cost cutting things that allowed Motorola to keep the price low and I can live with it (just a little sad).

Does anyone know how this phone can be rooted and if there is potential for CyanogenMod on this Moto 4g LTE?

By the way, this phone works superbly on Walmart Family T-Mobile.

At this point in time there is not a custom recovery available for this phone (the recovery for the Moto G will not work) so rooting is not quite a possibility yet. There is a thread over on XDA where a few people have figured out how to get root onto the phone via fastboot running the XT1032 image but it is a work around that works if you really know what you are doing and I would just recommend that you wait for either TWRP or ClockworkMod (CWM) to tweak their recoveries to work with this phone. The phone is still quite new to the market but there should be a custom recovery for this phone in a few weeks at most. There are not any custom ROM's to install on the phone as it is right now. The ROM's for the Moto G are not compatible due to the different radio's (4G vs 3G) in the phones and you will brick this phone if you try to flash a ROM that was created for the Moto G. You also need to unlock the bootloader before you can root the phone but if you do it through Motorola's site (you have to get the unlock key for your phone from them) and follow their instructions, it is a piece of cake. I unlocked mine in less than 5 minutes for the whole procedure. Just remember that unlocking the bootloader will wipe your phone of any data/apps you have put on it thus returning it to a fresh from the factory condition (but unlocked) so back up any data you might regret losing and be prepared to start from scratch again as far as configuring the phone goes.

Is the LTE Metro unlimited just like it is on T-Mobile? Also what speeds are you getting?

While the answer is yes, I'm not exactly sure of your question. If you mean if they have unlimited high speed data, that answer is yes if you get their $60 plan. If you meant if their plans are unlimited, just throttled, that answer is yes for their $40 and $50 plans, where they throttle you after you use your high speed data allotment.

LTE Speeds should be similar to what T-Mobile subscribers in the area are getting.
