Hello, thanks for your time. I recently lost a phone, and do not have the free cash to get a new one, this lead to me being handed a mytouch and being told "If you can get it working, keep it"

The problem so far is this; when you try to turn the phone on it displays the LG symbol, then about half of the android logo, stops, and starts flashing a black screen with a single white pixel in the top left.

As i can't find this exact problem anywhere(so i can replicate the solution given there), and have limited experience in fixing phones, i have done essentially nothing besides read through a couple hundred pages of forums like this. Any suggestions?

Much appreciated.

Alright- I've tried that several times (at least, I THINK i have) and though the phone will go into emergency mode (screen says S/w upgrade, please wait while upgrading...) i cannot get it to respond in any other way.

if i just turn the device on, and plug it into my computer via usb, i get the connect/disconnect sound every few seconds (did this for four hours yesterday)

Adb gets 0 response from it

if you download the lg upgrading tool put your phone in download mode (s/w mode)
let the tool find your device click options and click on upgrade recovery
this will load the stock o.s. back into your phone again ! if you get boot looped at the boot animation, then do this.......
cd adb
then adb devices
this should show you a serial # meaning your phone is showing up for adb

then type adb reboot recovery
this will get you a factory reset and then when the device boots back up it will be normal again
