Would you recommend the LG G3?

The only thing that held me back from getting the Note 3 was its lack of Spark. I almost went with the G2, but it did not have an SD card slot or removable battery. The G3 has all of that, and Spark. I want to hold out another year but my GS3 is too old. If the merger happens, it might be a while before we see phones that will work on both networks. Once the announcement is made for the Note 4, I will know for sure which to get.

I'd say you're safe choosing either. The G3 is the perfect size, IMO. How LG managed to get the 5.5 crammed into the smaller body, I don't know, but 1 handed operation is so much more comfortable. If Samsung was smart and figured out how to shrink the Note 4's physical dimensions, but keep the 5.7 screen, that would actually be another reason I'd consider it. For you, no doubt you will have 2 great phpnes to choose from.

IMO the key is how you use the device. If you are not a heavy gamer, the G3 seems a good device choice. Also, the G3 is far better than the S3 even with gaming due to the chipset jump, so if comparing to what you have it is a big win! I had the S3 for one year and the G3 trumps it in all aspects.

I am "close" though to buying a Note 3, since handles gaming better than any device IMO, plus video and web browsing are great. Catch is the mainly two hand use though..... Battery life though is very good for a device this size. Better than the G3 with gaming and web browsing. Based on GSM and Anandtech, better by two hours.

In spite of the Note 4 having an 805, I think the Qhd will result in similar issues the G3 is having. Probably need to wait for the 808 and 810 next year along with more power efficient displays.

I agree with Rush, I had a GS3, and the G3 will BLOW you away if that's your baseline. Really, any new phone will. There is nothing that the S3 did even remotely as well.
Interesting. I'm still sitting on a Galaxy S3 and after a recent factory reset, it seems to be hanging in.

I'm going back and forth over moving up to a G3 now or waiting until September(?) for something a little more groundbreaking.

I can't bring myself to make a definite decision.

I'll probably be holding my next phone almost 2 years, so I don't want to settle now if something better might be a couple months away.

Yes, I know, there's always something better a couple of months away, but in this case, I'm not sure the jump warrants it. I'm not unhappy with my GS3 at the moment.

I'm kinda the same, there is all the rumours about primes etc for September and so just not sure what to do, as my upgrade is towards the end of august

Here it is:

Sharp's SH-04F Aquos With A 5.4-Inch Screen Has An 81% Screen Size Ratio | Androidheadlines.com

And I agree, that screen to bezel proportion is pretty awesome. I highly doubt the Sharp phone makes its way to Sprint, but that is a very impressive achievement they have there. Now, if Samsung were to accomplish something similar with the Note 4, where they bump to a 6 inch screen, but majority of the phone is screen, I'd consider upgrading this year.

Imagine if LG went the same route that Sharp was able to accomplish (basically, fit the G3 screen in the G2 body)...that would likely have put the G3 over the top as the phone to have. No matter what, I still love what LG has done. I hope it pushes the other manufacturers to attempt the same.

When you say " Spark " are you referring to Sprints network?

I have been sitting on my upgrade since February. I have had to replace my batteries for my GS3. I keep at least two extra batteries for any device I get. I've done a few factory resets. I cannot hold on to my phone much longer. lol. I will wait until the Note 4 comes out to decide. I am not going to wait for any primes. I am really liking the G3. That makes the wait much harder.

Ok cool, I agree with you, im on Sprint also and my next phone will definitely have to have a Spark radio.

The funny thing is, I don't live in an area where its available yet. But I want to make sure I get a phone that has Spark, tri-band LTE, so it will be somewhat future proof. My signal here is not very good. The G3 would work for me.

I'm clearly a very heavy user. If the G3 would get the same or better battery life than my Note 3, I'd really be impressed. However after seven days under identical conditions it's 15% shy on run time vs Note 3.

Otherwise this is one exceptional phone. From my perspective. :)

Note 3 has a 3300mah battery.

Well, if you divide 3000/3300, it's 9-10% difference, so it's actually pretty close to the 15% less u r expeiencing.

That directionally fits Anandtech and GSM medium to heavy tests. The heavier tests was 25% less battery life.

The pixels make a big difference and since the gpu is at its ceiling, it also burns more battery. Key reasons for the throttle efforts by LG. I would expect some hot running and fast draining mod settings experimented by some.

Could be wild :)

I work for at&t and find it really hard to sell LG products against the likes of Samsung, but have confidence in this LG G3 after having my model for 1.5 weeks. Besides, the Quick Circle case is pretty darn cool. I'm not usually one for folios, but it gives the phone a really nice feel and the top end watch face look makes my customers ask lots of questions, and are finally showing interest in an LG phone. Very nice to be able to offer more options. Photos Attached. Yes the clock face photo looks like the screen is dark, I snapped the photo during the screen dim so my other phone wouldn't just adjust for the clock face.
