Root [Virgin Mobile] Android 4.4.4 d2lte Nightlies

Ab5traktion I have yet to try it. Because I've had so many random reboots on SOKP. And I'm mostly on wifi except for my 20min commute to and from school.

I was having a lot of reboots on SOKP as well. Try turning off Kernel samepage merging under Settings > performance > memory management.

It was enabled by default and I noticed the process using a significant amount of CPU time. I disabled it, rebooted and the rom has been much more stable.

The one issue I have with most recent roms, including SOKP, is high system ui battery drain. It can be anywhere between 10-15%. On Liquidsmooth it's usually 1-2%. Nameless also runs really smooth for me, but I miss the dark UI toggle because none of the themes I have tried are working with Hangouts.

Liquid is probably my top choice right now, but I can't seem to get pocket mode working for Lockscreen notifications. The quest for the perfect ROM seems to never end.

I'm on 4.4.4 I don't have a performance tab or is there an update I'm missing or something??? And it seems that pocket mode can be buggy on a lot of Roms. I just use peek.

It should be at the bottom of the main settings menu, near Developer Options. If it's not there, go to about phone and tap on Build number a bunch of times. I think it gets enabled with developer options.

Pocket mode works perfectly on Nameless and SOKP and I have really gotten used to having my phone automatically wake up every time I take it out of my pocket whether I have notifications or not. I tried using gravity screen, but it was just too sensitive and just waving my hand near the phone was enough to wake it up.

Gravity screen? What's that???

It's an app that'll wake up you're phone when you pick it up off the table or out of your pocket. And it'll put the phone to sleep when you put it down or put it in your pocket. It'll also wake up your phone if you wave over the proximity sensor.

It ends up being a massive power drain though. If it's in your pocket and detects movement, it'll wake the phone up. And it basically powers on your proximity sensor 24/7. I tried it once. The concept was awesome, but my phone never lasted more than 4 hours because of it.

I posted a reply earlier today, but it never got through moderation, probably because I linked to the app in the play store.

It's actually not much of a battery drain if configured properly. You can turn off the motion detection and only rely on the proximity sensor which has very little impact on battery. Even with the motion features enabled the developer claims it should only consume 6% battery throughout an entire day, and I have seen users confirm this number.

I've been out of the loop for a little while. Thanks for keeping this thread going Ab5traktion! I'm still on the 4.4.3 build of C-ROM, but I have an itch to flash something. It sounds like people like the AICP rom, so I'll try that. Does anyone have any other suggestions?

What I like about the C-ROM, and must have in a new ROM are the following: Working bluetooth, notification ribbon, pocket mode, no FC's, and generally fast and smooth, good battery life, and no overheating. I also like customizable progress bars and animations, but not a deal-killer.

Thanks for any suggestions!

AICP is really nice. Has everything. SOKP is like it also. A lot of features. Pretty stable. At this point of the game, Bob's your uncle, as the saying goes. It basically comes down to personal preference. Almost every ROM has good battery life, pocket mode (which comes with Active Display), and are fast. I'd say my least favorite ROM is PAC ROM. I always had a ton of FCs with it. I'd say the ones to check out are Dirty Unicorns (whose test 4.4.4 build came out a few days ago), Liquid Smooth, AICP, SOKP, Gummy, and Beanstalk. I would've suggested the newest C-RoM build but Bluetooth doesn't work. Sucks too because it is an incredible ROM. I've been looking for unofficial builds for it, but no luck.

Here's the link to Sahil Munawar's Google+ page: Sahil Munawar. For those who don't know, he's the one who makes the Dirty Unicorn's d2lte builds. His test 7/13 build is available on the page. I'm running it right now. Very smooth and so many features. I have yet to have a forced reboot...knock on wood. It's the smoothest Dirty Unicorns build I've run so far.

It appears that the drdevs website is down. This sucks because many Android developers post their ROMs there. Both Dirty Unicorns and Liquid Smooth ROMs are missing. Keep looking at Sahil's Google+ page for Dirty Unicorns updates.

In my search for the Liquid Smooth ROM, I found something interesting. Apparently, Sahil Munawar isn't the only one who is making unofficial Dirty Unicorns ROM builds. A developer named Michael Barbara is also making Dirty Unicorns d2lte builds.

So, this is now strictly an Android 4.4.4 nightlies list. I found a couple unofficial Dirty Unicorns 4.4.4 builds. Decided to post them both. They were made by developers Sahil Munawar and Michael Barbara. I also posted the links to their Google+ pages just in case they post new builds. This also seemed like a good move because the original link to Dirty Unicorns had disappeared.

I have also found another Android 4.4.4 ROM. It's the Spirit ROM. It's made my the developer Phil Voidz. It's a great ROM. It's smooth, stable, and a lot of features. I know that sounds redundant because I've said that about many ROMs, but definitely check it out. At this point, I didn't think I could find new ROMs. Guess I was wrong.

Also, the Android 4.4.4 GAPPS I posted are updated periodically. The latest update contains the newest Google Play Store. The Material design had been incorporated in it.

So, the link to the Android 4.4.4 GAPPS keeps changing. I wouldn't be surprised if the link I just posted changes again. You don't have to use these GAPPS. I just like having them there for a resource. And they are updated periodically. I'll keep trying to make sure the link is working.

There's still no link for LiquidSmooth yet. The drdevs server is still down. Hopefully, they'll get it working again. Not just for LiquidSmooth but also for all the other ROMs that are posted on it.

Well heck! I decided to cruise over here in the hopes of finding a good link to the Liquidsmooth nightlies. The newest build I've found is the 7/16 build and that was shared by a member on Google+ through his MediaFire account.

Looks like we are just gonna have to wait. :(
