for my old beater htc inspire, 2.3.5, when trying to play content from pbs, frontline, nova, etc. I get this error: "error loading player no playable sources found"
the phone has some video player, the standard issue that came with the phone and android version, it plays videos taken with the phone camera, .3gp's and it plays other web video like from cnn news etc. never tried to play an mp3, etc.
what kind player do I need? are there free ones for now anyway? recommendations?
This all started trying to play content from my phone to my chromecast. which is turning out to be a project of sorts.

There are two video players that I usually use from the play store. They are both free.

1. MX Player
2. BS Player

Both will play almost any video file type.

uhhh, its the android 2.3.5 default browser, so its google, but it doesn't say its chrome specifically, good idea I never thought of that, just assumed on android google would be the only choice, I will check that out, sent a message thing to pbs but not expecting an answer besides the auto reply

It might not make a difference, but try another browser.

so i installed ffox and it can play the pbs videos but with some annoying pixelation in panels to the right and below the movie panel.
i went looking for chrome in the playstore but nothing comes up?
is that for real?
no version of chrome for android?
I want to use it with chromecast so I push a chrome screen onto my tv? I can do it from my laptop, but don't really want to have laptop around to push chrome content onto tv.

Chrome is available on Android. Here's the link.

thanks for the reply
for some reason google detects that I have an HTC 'desire' not a HTC 'inspire'
but only when it comes time to dl and install chrome
from the link you gave it comes back with an incompatible device
See attachments, first they detect I have the att htc inspire, then they come back and say I'm incompatible with an htc desire
yikes google has lost it!
I tried to manually select my phone, its there, I select it, but then the installer goes beserk
