When will T-Mobile fix their obvious LTE bug - or at least acknowledge that the problem exists?

I'm speaking of the issue where the LTE data connection will stall and drop periodically and requires toggling airplane mode to correct itif you don't want to wait up to 30 seconds for it to correct itself.

It is obviously a nationwide issue, because no matter where I go on the internet, whether it's on this site, Reddit, howardforums, or anywhere else T Mobile is discussed, many people are having this problem everywhere in the country with all different kinds of devices.

I'm currently on MetroPCS network, my prior device was an LG motion. For the first year I owned that device, I never had any issues with LTE dropping. However, shortly after the merger I began to experience the dropping of the LTE. This caused me to switch to a GSM device much earlier than I had planned. I had originally intended to keep my motion until the CDMA network was shut off.

I purchased my LG f6 at the end of January, and to my dismay the problem persisted. Its been 5 months now on this device that I've been experiencing this problem daily.

The most frustrating thing about this is that fact that I have yet to see T-Mobile (or Metro, by extension) acknowledge that the problem even exists. Every report I see from other people relates tales of them being instructed to troubleshoot the device, pull the battery, pull and replace or swap the SIM card entirely. No one has reported that this solution worked, at least not permanently.

And before somebody chimes in with the inevitable, "Alll you have to do is toggle airplane mode and that will fix it temporarily", I will say that I am NOT looking for a quick fix, I am looking for a permanent solution to a problem that I've been experiencing for the past 9 months. I should not have to do that, especially multiple times a day.

Can anyone tell me if T Mobile is ever going to address this issue, let alone resolve it?

There have been more than a few threads on this site where people have mentioned having this issue. Also, in the T-Mobile sections of Reddit and Howard forums it's constantly brought up. So I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that I'm not an outlier, or an anomaly.

I won't say I haven't heard of people having similar issues but, from what I recall, typically it seems to have been a phone problem, not something T-Mobile needed to fix. In fact, what I remember the most was from people with iPhones shortly after iOS 7 was released, and that software updates largely corrected.

1) I'm joining the others who haven't encountered or heard of this problem. LTE works quite consistently for me even on my Nexus 4.

2) If it only takes "up to 30 seconds" for the problem to resolve itself, (a) I'm not sure that toggling Airplane Mode would be much quicker (it can take quite a while for all the radios to fully cycle), and (b) that kind of sounds like an intermittent coverage issue.

I've actually been having this problem with my Note 3 for the longest time. What happens is, every so often the mobile data symbol in the notification bar will get stuck. The green "up" arrow will light up, but the orange "down" arrow won't. I suppose this means that my phone isn't able to download or receive data. I have a widget on my home screen that toggles my mobile data on and off, and turning mobile data off for like 10-ish seconds and back on seems to clear it up temporarily, but never permanently. I was starting to wonder whether it was a hardware issue, as I didn't really want to exchange it (I really like this phone and don't want to have to recustomize everything). But I guess that's not the case.

For what it's worth, even though it is random, it seems to happen more frequently when I rapidly cycle through Facebook notifications.

I used to have this problem on my Galaxy Nexus on Verizon. It was phone specific and was corrected by an OTA update for the radios. The phone gets hung when handing off signal between LTE and CDMA. As was mentioned, it may need to be updated. If there is tower work happening, it may make the issue both more prominent and annoying.:(

I remember something like this happening last summer when they started converting Metro towers to T-Mobile. It's probably just more tower changes (VoLTE or wideband) tower upgrades that are taken place.

I think you are right. Last summer I had my lg motion, soon after the merger took place I started experiencing dropping LTE. It would just simply drop down to 1x. I had to toggle airplane mode to get it back to LTE.

The problem persisted from summer all the way until January when I switched my motion for a GSM device. But it was never as persistent on the motion.
