Help Bluetooth answers calls but no sound 50% of the time.

I've got my note III and bose bluetooth headset. I'm in outside sales and take multiple calls a day while in the car. The change seems to have happened after 4.4 update. I leave my headset off in the car to save battery. When I get a call I turn it on, it answers, and I can speak to the person. NOW, it does this maybe 30% of the time. It still answers when I turn the headset on but I usually have to hit bluetooth off and then back on to be able to hear the person. This is driving me crazy and I see nobody else having this issue..

Unfortunately this sometimes happens with BT devices, once an update is pushed out something in them just doesn't work properly.

I know that my Mother's car has BT, but I cannot find her car for the life of me on the devices list, and the car won't pair with my Note 3 at all, which is kind of frustrating, but it isn't my car so it isn't that big of a deal.

You might want to see if there is any software updates or anything for your headset. Otherwise you might want to talk to the developers of it and ask about compatibility issues.

I did the firmware update last night. Nothing happened. I took everything to verizon today. They were stumped so they replaced the headset under warranty. Seems to be working so far. Maybe just a coincidence that it happend right after the update. I'm afraid to update the firmware on the new headset since everything seems to be working so far.

Since you took it in and everything works, don't update a thing haha :)

If it works why tinker with it!

Glad you got your issue solved.

I have the same issue with my LG Ultra Tones, I answer the call and no one can hear me, I turn the bluetooth off and speak through the phone and they can hear me, then I go back to to the bluetooth and it works fine, also I've had an issue when listening to music thru my tones, the music will pop/skip a beat, pretty often, it is frustrating, I've hard reset my phone 10 times at least. Kit Kat ruined this phone IMO.

Check in with your carrier about getting a new device, as the hard resets shouldn't be necessary at this point.

Have you also tried updating the software for the BT device.
