What is the best rom to use for my moto droid? i am looking a rom with a lot of nice features and one that looks really nice =) thanks in advanced

Root Best rom to use?

In this forum the response will most likely be either Bugless Beast by pete (recent update I believe) or cyanogen. The best way to get cyanogen is to use the app rom manager in the market. Although my personal favorite is neither of these what you will find is that "the best rom" will vary heavily depending on what a persons needs/wants are. There are almost endless roms for the droid from many different developers. Theres roms from: Blackdroid, AdamZ, Pete, Cyanogen, ChevyNo1, Koush, jRummy, and probably many others that dont immediately come to me. Do some searching around on different forums and you will find one that suites your needs/wants. But dont be swayed by people that say this one sucks that one sucks because it might be the perfect one for you. A couple places to start HERE, HERE (some overlap). Good Luck!

ChevyNo1 is well known for his awesome kernels so he certainly knows what he is doing. I say give it a shot. Most of us on here have switched roms many, many times. The only way you know is if you try but ChevyNo1 is a solid choice.

It also depends on what you're looking for. For example, I run Pete's ROM because I like its speed and battery life, and I don't really have a lot of interest in themes or need for the advanced features you'd find in something like Cyanogenmod. On the other hand, some people prefer Cyanogenmod just because of those neat features (360-degree screen rotation, N1-like launcher, apps2sd, etc). Still others like Adam's Smoked Glass or Chevy's ROMs for the wide range of customisation options available. And some people like the Ultimate Droid ROMs because Blackdroid basically copies other people's ROMs and adds his own theme.
It's all a matter of what you want from your phone and what you use it for. And some ROMs seem to just run better on some phones than others for whatever reason. Definitely recommend trying a bunch of them out and seeing what you like best.
