So this week I've been trying to get the 4.3 bootloader installed on my s3 so
I can use the Likewise s5 rom but every attempt I make to do so has failed I restored to 4.1.2(Using mobile odin) and clear my flash counter to regain normal status to receive over the air updates but it never works. Shabby's 4.3 NA1 update tar on his site appear to have the bootloader stripped becuase I update to 4.3 with the 4.1.2 bootloader (wifi doesnt work to clarify that and I used mobile odin to update to the 4.3 tar file). I have also tried to use odin on my computer but in download mode it fails to pass the setup connection. Finally kies fails me when I tried the update as well in download mode. Before I was using aosp roms that were 4.4 can anyone help me?

If you're going to use the Odin Tar..U need to wipe everything ...well not you're sd card lol..make sure u have no Rom per-installed..I don't believe u need to wipe you're internal drive but i would just n case after backing up what u need( i've flashed it same way not long ago)..then flash the tar Good luck...

seems like there's not much help on this S3 around here no more hope this help..also here's a Tar for twrp Recovery version 2.7 for our phone u can flash it in ODin https://www.dropbox.com/s/zcfwsg04drigozm/openrecovery-twrp-2.7.0.0-d2mtr.tar

also updated SuperSU2 make sure u have this on ur sd card flash it after ur rom for Root https://www.dropbox.com/s/4phl3k11cd2c57s/UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.01.zip

You lost me I have to wipe data system and cache to get odin to flash a tar file? and I need help getting a stock 4.3 image because I used shabbypeguin's from his site and I still have the 4.1.2 bootloader

IF you're on a rom and you flash that Tar it won't be a pure stock..you'll still be on that Rom at least have traces of it left..so you need to factory wipe everything via recovery then restart the phone in download mode flash the Tar

what did you use to flash the tar from the site? and which tar did you flash? i should have a .43 complete tar up as well.

Hey Shabby this is some what a related question to the Topic The LikeWise Galaxy S5 | LT | TouchWiz 4.4.2 Rom I'm using this ROM it says my network is Sprint so it won't let me be on my 4G to surf The Web and talk at the same time..

but everything else works fine. I've even try NV restore cm11 settings same thing. even try to use Metro apn xml still says Sprint and same results any help would be appreciated

Used mobile odin on a towelrooted 4.1.2 rom I got from your site I believe it is the NA1 tar at the bottom of the list I used. The way I got to 4.1.2 was from the 4.4.4 d2lte omnirom and mobile odin. I tried using odin 3.07 and 1.85 yesterday and it wasnt working all of which I got from your site shabby

there is your issue, mobile odin doesnt flash bootloaders. far too many risks, it says it in the app somewhere.

dunno why it wont let you do that might be a kernel thing, but the sprint pulldown is eri.xml in the frameworks, you can make your own and put it in /data/local/eri.xml

no, you misunderstand. the file name needs to be eri.xml, you need to put it at /data/local it wont just be there. inside the eri.xml is a bunch of stuff, if you grab the one thats inside the framework-res.apk youll see in a few spots it says sprint, change that to whatever it is you want and thats what will be on the notification pull down. no idea regarding the apn's and this wouldnt change it, its merely cosmetic.

The Pull down isn't the issue i can change that with xposed mod ..just my network says sprint and when I'm on call it's suspended i found an apn tweaker do you know the apn settings for metro maybe i can edit to see if that works
