I can't get it to work with a Sony TV either, although I did get it to work once out of 100 tries. I spoke with Sony about it, and they said you pretty much have to have a Sony phone for it to work. How and why it worked once I don't know.

I have a Sony bluray player with WiFi, and one of the features is supposed to be screen mirroring. I can never get my moto x to pair with it completely.
However, my nexus 7 does pair no problem.
I recently upgraded to wireless n, I should try using the Moto x for screen mirroring again. See if it's any different.

The WiFi is the ticket to get it to display . it see the device you chose it . only other way USB

After my phone updated to Android 4.4.4, screen mirroring now works perfect every time.

after update to 4.4.4 too ,i am unable to screen mirror to my sony TV which has miracst.

There is always a dfebate about the need for a Factory Data Reset.
I believe that you should always do it on a major version update ... plan for it ... do the update ... do the Factory Data Reset.
Some people disagree.
It is not possible to prove its need.
Here we have one that is working and one that is not working.
The one that is not working did not do a Factory Data Reset.
Was a Factory Data Reset done one the one that is workling?

I did not do a FDR. I generally only do them if I'm having issues, which I'm not.
