Root [Kernel. Loki] Unsecured Kernel from Firmware G - any useful?

Hi.

I just loki-patched 'boot.img' from firmware G.

But will this file be any different than the kernels from firmware F?

I don't know what LG / Metro PCS did with firmware update but you are more than welcome to test.

[What it is]

1. This kernel is made from firmware G environment
Pulling out aboot and boot from firmware G phone

2. Loki-patched from the most recent source from jdrbliss' site.

3. Wallpaper (security check) script removed
You can delete google video, newsstand, google music without error.

4. All others same
No overclock, no tweak

[How to Install]

1. Download the ZIP file. Copy & Paste it on your phone's memory card.

2. Go to the recovery mode.

3. Install Zip. Just overwrite and install.

*** DON'T do the Factory Reset. DON'T do the Wipe Data and Cache.
*** Again, this is not a ROM file. This is Kernel.

4. Restart the phone.

5. After brief security warning, it will bypass the error check and your phone will boot.

I will try to build other tweak, rom, kernel from here.

Thank you for letting me know the result.

Although I had trouble with Google Map stuck / crash yesterday. Not sure if it was network error or just random error. I will keep monitor as well.

Is there a reason why you havent been promoted to dev status on here? as far as i can tell youve done plenty to earn it

Umm I guess i've been on and off, i am not very noticeable haha.

DEV status is not necessary but it will be very rewarding

Is there any requirement like contributing minimum each month?

if there is then they sure at slow at kicking people out

ive been on again off again for a bit myself. you are bringing valuable content and helping users out with devices, i would inquire about it in teh staff Q&A section where you can talk to mods etc.

Anyone having Google Map - Navigation freezing issue?

I am constantly having Google Navigation freezing while driving. The top portion (distance left, turn by turn signal, street name) still works so I can still use it and get to the destination but main panel (map itself) freezes. It's annoying.

Looking forward to trying and testing it out!
Once I install it on my Motion, I'll leave some feedback and see if I experience the Google maps freezing issue as well.

I hope you're not running google maps 7.x. In my experience it runs slowly on the motion.

I have completely wiped the phone, installed new ROM and updated all Apps. So far I don't see horrible map performance like before but my map version is 7.70.
