Im using the stock player on my Note 2 and Note 10.1, and I hit shuffle once, and on my HTC Thunderbolt, that simply meant it shuffled all my mps, then bounced around them until all of them had been played once, before starting over. On my Note 2 and 10.1, it literally goes about randomly, sometimes while going through songs I get the same ones a few times. Just wondering what music player shuffles all my MP3s once before going through each till they're all played?

Weird that my HTC thunderbolt did this, and yet my newer devices do not. Seriously, if say I had a 300 song playlist, it'd go through them randomly, counting up till 300, and then start all over again. I was listening to music on my Note 2 and some of the same songs came up multiple times.

I'd guess that it depends on how "random" the random selection is (just 'google' various ways to select a "random" number and you'll find that it's not that easy) and when it's applied. By the latter point I mean, does the app "randomize" the whole list and then keep that selection until it's through or does it just choose each "random" track from the list after each track has played? If the latter then it could, obviously, even play the same track again.

It also depends on how many tracks you have. for example, I use Poweramp and have my music on 'shuffle all' (so it plays any one of my tracks) and rarely hear the same track. But I have over 4000 tracks on my phone.
