Help getting the G3 to use bluetooth headset mic instead of the handset mic

I'm trying to understand the nature of the issue where voice recognition apps won't use the Bluetooth headset mic, instead switching to the handset mic. Is this a G3 issue? Is this an android issue? Is there a solution? This is a major issue for me, as I keep my phone in my back pocket. I wear a Bluetooth headset when I work and use voice recognition to place calls, or even get the time. Unfortunately this doesn't work on the G3 because every voice recognition app I've tried switches to the handset mic for input.

Try Google and in settings allow it to record from the BT headset.

Did you ever figure this out? It's driving me crazy, never seemed to be an issue on my N5 but just can't get it to recognise the headset mic. Works fine for calls initiated from the handset but the voice dialler won't work, just uses the handset speaker/mic. Definitely have the option ticked in GNow but doesn't make a difference. Also, used to be able to launch a voice dialler from a long press on my headset which now does nothing. What's going on, why a step backwards?
Surely software since LG made the N5 too?

Interestingly enough, this is something I've noticed with all of my android phones, not just the G3. For some reason, A2DP with voice search is so sporadic for when it works and when it doesn't. Even audio receiving, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.

Same problem here with a Sennheiser MM 400-X.
It used to work perfectly with an old android 2.3 phone, but refuses to work with the G3.
Headphones work properly, but the mic is not seen by any app, nor phone caller itself.
Tried to look at all the accessible parameters for hours, but did not find any solution.
The implementation from LG is probably buggy. Even the ring tone is active on the handset when the bluetooth headset is active (was not the case on the old android...)
They definitely need to work a bit on their software... maybe one day ? ;-)
