Help How to disable sound

Hi, I know it's strange but I have my reasons. Does anyone know how to mute sound completely and permanently on my tab 3 7"? In other words, I want my Tab completely dumb. thanks

When you say sound do you mean like the clicking sounds, locking sounds, power on and off sounds? For system sounds you would have to be rooted and use an like root explorer to access the system/media/ui folder and delete all the sounds in there. For anything else just keep it on silent.

I mean all sounds, I want my Tab to be like if it doesn't come with internal speakers; I want it to be completely dumb, and I don't want anyone to be able to bring the sound back too. I can physically remove the internal speaker but I want to achieve this in the software side. Is there any software solution or I must go with the hardware? and yes my Tab is rooted. Thanks

I'm not sure if there's anything that will completely rid it of sound. It's a very strange thing to want to do so I doubt there's a program that would so it for you. You could always Google and see what you find.

Yeah I know, I already said it's strange but I have my reasons. Of cource before I posted here I'd searched a lot with no avail! Thanks

Root
In root directory
System/media

Add a "_bk" for backup to all the sound files.

Remove ringtones and notifications from their folders.

Now no sound, and no ringtones to pick.

I would make a blank 1 second ogg file or mp3 and put that for my notifications and ringtones in your case.

Thanks, but this is not what I want. What if someone reloaded the ringtones, or even downloaded new ringtones or a song or a video or a game, we still have sounds.

Well, unless you or someone else has further ideas I think I'll go for the physical solution; pulling out the internal speaker. Thank you.

Why would someone do something you didnt want to it? Sounds like somebody I wouldent let use my stuff. Just saying. Then later when I change my mind or want to sell the device. I dont haft to do hardware work. I can just factory reset.
