Root [Root] Cant boot into flashed recovery

So, I have been talking with a friend for a while and finally decided to root my device. With help from him, we were able to get as far as flashing a recovery image. Sadly, everytime that I tried to boot into recovery, it just sat on the logo, and after a while, booted normally.

The device currently has root access (towelroot) and I can do everything root related, but I don't feel right now having a custom ROM.

Things we have tried:
TWRP Manager (For TWRP)
Flashify (TWRP, CWM)
Rom Installer (CWM)
CynogenMod - My device is obsolete apparently so it would not pick it up
ADB - Driver Issues (Yay Vista)

Yet everytime, the same issue. Any idea on what I could do now?

Device Info -
KitKat 4.4.2
Xt926 (CDMA)
Droid RAZR Maxx HD
Bootloader is unlocked

Are you using the correct TWRP or CWM recovery for KK bootloader? If not, that is your problem.

If you do have the correct TWRP/CWM recovery, how are you trying to get into it?

To get into recovery, either power down your phone or reboot it (hold vol-down + vol up + power for over 10 seconds and then release).

If powered down, press vol-up and power and hold until menu comes up. If you rebooted, immediately after it reboots, press and hold vol-up and power until the menu comes up.

Next, use vol-down to select "Recovery" and then press vol-up to boot into recovery. If you wait too long, it will go into normal boot mode and then hang at the logo for you.
