CHANGELOG

08/12/2014: 7.1
  • SYSTEM: Added shadow layer behind battery icon percentage text to improve readability
  • SYSTEM: Unlinked several UI element colors for greater customizability in theming
  • SYSTEM: Removed "Custom" contact list option from Dormant mode settings to prevent force closing
  • SYSTEM: Updates now apply the default theme before rebooting to system
  • SYSTEM: Quantum Themer will now prompt before rebooting to recovery to apply theme
  • SYSTEM: Quantum Themer will now apply the default theme before applying the selected theme to prevent overlapping theme elements
  • SYSTEM: Increased preview image size in Quantum Themer
  • SYSTEM: Switched to Holo Light/Dark Action Bar style for Quantum Themer
-------------------------------
RELEASE NOTES: As you can see, the bulk of this update focuses on the theming aspects of the ROM. If any aspiring themers out there have any questions as to what elements in the colors.xml file link to what elements in the status bar/system ui/framework, feel free to drop me a PM, but they should be pretty self-explanatory. There are also two new themes available in the downloads post: Holo Blue and TouchWiz. Enjoy and as always, let me know if you run into any bugs.

Special thanks to bob-st, roirraW "edor" ehT, and wetbiker7 for beta testing!

EDIT: In a last-minute decision, themes have been moved to their own thread here.

I can't live without the hardware button modification settings from the liquidsmooth ROM. I set it so that double tapping the menu button even on the lockscreen will turn on the flashlight. Is there a way to bring that mod to this ROM?

Go into the settings and tap Flashlight. Turn that on and you can activate the flashlight when the screen is off by long pressing volume up. Has a customizable time out period and can be turned off by pressing volume down.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RELEASE NOTES: All themes had to be rebuilt for this release, please download the appropriate theme from the themes thread. Update notices will be sent out to users of 7.2 but anybody else should download the full release, wipe, and re-install.

You'll notice that I've removed ES File Explorer in favor of Tomi File Manager in this release. Tomi is a lightweight file manager with all of the best features of ES File Explorer plus a few additional ones. I've been using it for the past month or so and am highly satisfied with it. It's fast, easy to use, and nice to look at.

I've also included 8sms in this release. Anybody who used my ROM for the Virgin Mobile Galaxy Victory will know what 8sms is but for those who don't, it's a stock-based messaging app. It's currently has features take from both AOSP 4.4 messaging and CyanogenMod 10.2. The author is super supportive and updates frequently. For anybody who has been looking for a stock messaging app, this is the way to go. If you're on Boost or Virgin Mobile, you'll probably need to follow the steps for extra configuration in the FAQs post.

Heads up notifications are not shown for ongoing notifications. Enabling heads-up for ongoing notifications breaks the phone's ability to receive calls properly.

All of the theme-related FAQs have been moved to the themes thread.

This will likely be my last release for a while. I've got a few side-projects that I want to work on, I want to make a few guides/tutorials for anybody that wants to implement some of the mods that I have included in Conquest, maybe a theming tutorial, and I may even make a couple of new themes (definitely have a couple of ideas floating around in the back of my mind).

As always, thanks to bob-st, roirraW "edor" ehT, and wetbiker7 for beta testing and if anybody has any problems, please post them here and I'll answer to the best of my ability.

First make sure you have the latest version of OTA Update Center. It can be updated via the Play Store.

Second, wipe data for OTA Update Center. This can be accomplished in Google Now Launcher by dragging the icon out of the app drawer onto the "Information" link at the top of the screen SBD then tap "Clear data."

If these steps don't work for you, time to backup your apps and follow the instructions for a full release.

I may have an explanation as to why that doesn't work. I was told that my device isn't supported because I" have" a d2spr but I have d2vmu

CHANGELOG

08/20/2014: 8.1
  • SYSTEM: Fixed fifth lockscreen shortcut being cut off at the side
  • SYSTEM: Added theming support for keyguard.apk and tw-frameworkres.apk
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RELEASE NOTE: You can either download the update from the downloads section on the first page of the thread or via the OTA Update Center. You must be on version 8.0 to properly apply this update.

EDIT: OTA update center isn't working properly, possibly a bug in the system or one of the OTA prop files. I'll get it fixed and push another update (8.2) later. For now, just download the file from the link in the downloads post and update manually.

CHANGELOG

08/20/2014: 8.2
  • SYSTEM: Fixed SystemUI.apk/Keyguard.apk force close
  • SYSTEM: Fixed potential framework-res.apk force close
  • SYSTEM: Fixed downloading updates in OTA Update Center
  • SYSTEM: Device will now identify as d2bst for Boost Mobile devices, d2spr for Sprint devices, and d2vmu for Virgin Mobile devices
------------------------------------------------
RELEASE NOTES: SystemUI crashes were due to including raw resources from Keyguard.apk in the default theme. Raw resources must be stored uncompressed. Appears there were some in the framework-res.apk portion of the theme as well so those have been removed to prevent potential FCs, although none were reported.

OTA Update Center should work properly after installing this update (for future updates) but if you're on 8 or 8.1, it will likely force close when trying to download this update. Use the link in the downloads section. There are some caveats with OTA Update center as it is not fully compatible with Philz recovery (or actually, Philz recovery isn't fully compatible with the scripting language that OTA Update Center uses) so while you can flash the downloaded zip directly from OTA Update center, it is not recommended. The wipe and backup options do not work so if you want to make a backup, make sure to manually flash.
