FINALLY got to see that via YouTube later in the afternoon. Cool that they're so excited about it. I thought it was cool that they talked about the active sensor array and low power consumption being used similar to the X and the Droid Maxx/Ultra/Mini.

I hate getting this excited for a device without knowing how much it will cost. If it's $300+ I'm going to be very disappointed because I cannot justify spending that much.

Wondering if anyone is having the same thoughts I'm having out there while waiting. Yes, comically, the watch hasn't been released yet....but hasn't stopped me from thinking...

I've been a droid phone person from the OG to my current Maxx. When I think about the changes and improvements, its staggering. Even from the Droid to the Droid 2/3, some amazing changes took place.

That leaves me wondering....if I have the willpower, does it make sense to wait for the Moto 360 Ultra or 360 Two that will inevitably come out with improvements and fixes to the bugs likely to accompany a first release?

Like I said, just thinking out loud and wondered if anyone else thought the same thing? Since a smart watch is more a toy to me than a necessity....I can't see myself anxiously awaiting each new incarnation and trading in like i do my phones. Probably going to be a one and done experiment.

You're not the only one, although my waiting will depend on price. I don't HAVE to have the latest. If it comes out at a reasonable price I could spring for one soon. However, I'm the type that if I had bought an off-contract Moto X when it came out I would have been upset with myself when I found out that they had a $150 off sale a couple months later.

Also, I see the watch needing to do three main things:
1) Look good so that I don't feel like a tool wearing it to work/out/etc.
2) Tell the time like a watch (I know, crazy!!)
3) Give me relevant notifications such as who's calling, who's texting, etc.

Voice commands aren't a huge deal for me (see the "tool" requirement in 1). With that said, I won't really care about an enhancement for the next model unless it builds on one of those three points. But that's just me...

Boils down to the theory that if you're waiting and worried about what will be better in the next incarnation you may NEVER pull the trigger and purchase one.

I own the gear 2 and used that as my test run to see if I can handle a smart watch. Now that I know, I'm eagerly waiting the 360. Sometimes you just have to have faith and jump in. But I totally see your concerns.

Seriously though, unless it is a total flop with bugs/issues out of the box I think I will be an early adopter. The Gear OS has been out in the wild for a while now with the LG and Samsung watches and Motorola is known for quality hardware so I'm expecting a solid device from the get go.

I know, I know, I'm a strong proponent of the 360, but the idea that LG is making a truly ROUND watch without that notch in the bottom for light sensor... that appeals to me. Add to that the rumors that the 360 may not be out until DECEMBER??? NO thank you.

What do you think? Are you still solid on the Moto 360, or has the LG G Watch R shaken your decision at all?

If the new round Samsung comes with Android Wear, a camera, heart rate sensor, and an IR blaster I'd be tempted to dump my Tizen Gear 2 for it.

I'm not bugged by the light sensor, but if the G-R has an equivalent form factor and features, and especially if the 360 isn't out till December, I'd consider it.

IR blaster would definitely put it over the top, but failing that, I think I'd rather have the Moto, then the LG, then a Sammy.

I can't imagine that December is accurate. Didn't they say the I/O people were getting theirs right after the 4th? I would really prefer the Moto to an LG. I just don't like LGs stuff.

I feel really silly just coming to this realization, but with either the LG watch or the 360 I'm not going to be able to answer my phone calls and speak through my watch to the caller via blue tooth the way I can with my gear 2?

I just watched a video on all the features of the LG watch and doesn't show that feature anywhere. That's one of the things I love best about my gear. Oh no!

Just spent some time this morning googling: does the moto 360 have a speaker. I'm really surprised and disappointed by my findings. Foolishly, I had my heart set on this watch without knowing the full story. But in my defense, when does technology go backwards? I made an assumption, yes, I know the saying, but why would they not include a feature that already exists on my gear 2? Answering calls while driving and not having to have a ear piece in was the biggest selling point of my gear 2. Yet, let's be honest, the gear isn't a pretty watch.

I was surprised by that too. It seems a logical thing for a smartwatch to do. Like you said, other Bluetooth devices have been doing it for some time.

I think it probably got removed because it's a minimally useful feature. Are you going to answer from your watch in any scenario other than being in your car? And in your car, bluetooth integration is becoming more and more common, so your watch becomes redundant.

Not trying to tell you that you're wrong or that it's a stupid feature, just that it's minimally useful for most people. I think it'd be a nice feature to have, but I have no idea when I'd personally use it. If it added even $10 to the price, I'd pass on it (this is assuming you could add it as an option for $10, not if it was included and added $10 to the price).

I hear what you're saying but I can think of many situations that I've answered the phone via watch. Most of them revolve around having wet hands, haha. I've answered the phone via my gear 2 when washing dishes, helping my child in the bath, in the car, whenever my hands were full (usually due to child) and so on. So, I see your point, but it's certainly gotten its uses for me. But, how can I argue. Obviously people in bigger places have thought this through. (Honestly, no sarcasm, just somber)
