Great rom, but my camera won't connect. I'm on 8.2. Tried everything reinstalling, wiping cache and dalvik. Tried both Google and Samsung camera even third party apps. I've looked on Internet, can't find a thing. I really like this rom, any help?

Never had any reports of the camera not working. Does it work with stock ND8/NDC? Possible that your phone doesn't like the KT747 kernel. If it works on stock, try flashing the stock kernel.

  • SYSTEM: Fixed carrier label in notification tray/on lock screen always showing Sprint
  • INSTALLER: Fixed update zip not installing/not reverting theme properly
----------------------------------------------
RELEASE NOTE: Everything should be working in this one. No major changes, just bug fixes. You must be on release 8.0 or higher before flashing this. If you are on release 8.2, you should be able to update via OTA Update Center or from the link in the download post. As with before, I do not recommend flashing from within OTA Update Center as you will not be able to make a backup or wipe cache.

I've been getting video corruption in the you tube app. Takes a few times of restarting the video to get it to play clearly. On a fresh install of 8.3. It was happening in 7 too.

Then I would suggest reporting the bug to Google. I didn't develop the YouTube app.

CHANGELOG

08/21/2014: 8.4
  • SYSTEM: Rewrote the script that applies the default theme as well as the method used to fix black screen of death
  • SYSTEM: Added SecSettings.apk to theme reversion list to enable theming of system settings app
--------------------------------------------------------------------
RELEASE NOTE: This should fix the problems people were having getting black screens after applying updates. You can try flashing this over 8.3 if you were experiencing the black screen of death but I'd recommend a clean install of 8.0, making sure to follow all of the instructions. If you're on a functioning install of 8.3, you can just install this update as normal either downloading via the link in the downloads post or through OTA Update Center.

after having not-so-good luck with the ND8 stock rooted rom, i decided to try this rom and i'm so happy i did. my phone functions so much better. it's snappier, gps locks on almost instantaneously, better battery life, bigger icons, no junk, etc etc. best thing i've ever done to my phone, so thank you very much moonknightus

I do have a few minor issues, which are probably related to the AOSP settings and options, but i at least wanted to bring them up

Dormant Mode
Formerly "Blocking Mode" on the stock rom. Worked perfectly before, now it will turn off notifications sounds and leds and such, but calls are still coming through when active. i'm not sure if this is related to the new dialer/contacts apps, due to the favorites working a little bit differently, but that was my thought. i have mine set to allow favorites only, but it allows everyone through

Gestures
I can't seem to find a "gestures" option in the settings. The only gesture i used was the palm swipe to screenshot, but i can't find a way to reactivate this. I used this feature constantly for work. I realize i may just be over-looking this, but i believe i've looked everywhere in the settings

very minor, so no sweat regardless, just thought i'd at least ask. keep up the good work!

*edit*
read through some of the older posts on this thread which addressed the OTA updater and customize Dormant mode option. sorry bout that

To answer your question, no. See FAQs:

Q: I don't like your bad attitude, rude answers, or lack of willingness to help. What should I do?
A:
Use a different ROM.

As far as changes failing, connect your phone to a computer with ADB while still in recovery, and pull the recovery.log and post it here for me to take a look at.

adb pull /tmp/recovery.log

You can also navigate to /tmp using Aroma File Manager and copy the recovery.log file to the internal or external storage then upload it here for me to take a look at.

Also, at the end of the installation, be sure to tap "Save Logs." This will save a copy of the Aroma installer log to the same folder as the installer zip. Post that here as well.

I am an @$$. Ask anyone. ANYway, back on topic (or I guess that is on topic since it's covered in the FAQs but you know what I mean). It looks like I uploaded the wrong zip. Sometimes I forget to re-package my changes or I'll move the zip to my phone/sdcard for testing instead of copying it like I should be. This is why I don't get paid to do this for a living.

Download post updated and uploaded the correct zip to OTA Update Center.

is there any way to blacklist a phone number with this rom?

Depends on what you're trying to block and which dialer you have installed. If you are trying to block callers and are using the TW Contacts/Dialer, it has native blacklisting. If you are using the Google dialer, you'll need a 3rd party app. My favorite is "Mr. Number" from the Play Store.

If you're trying to block text messages, Mr. Number doesn't work for this on our version of Android. Many messaging apps, however, have built-in blacklisting capabilities.

RELEASE NOTES: As you can see, there are quite a few changes/re-organizations in this release. I may have missed a few small changes, but I believe I got most of them.

I want to thank bob-st, roirraW "edor" ehT, and wetbiker7 for beta testing, roirraW "edor" ehT for pointing out that the 3minit battery mod was updated to version 2.0, and talkingmonkeys for pointing out that the aforementioned battery mod was updated to 2.1 as well as providing the updater script code for clearing out the old 3minit settings/downloads.

There's a new theme for this release based on Android 3.0 a.k.a. Honeycomb. I call it Honeycomb Inspiration. Many UI elements were taken directly from Honeycomb and several others were adapted to fit in with the overall look and feel. You can find it in the themes thread.

The OP has been updated with a slightly re-written feature list, a list of requirements, and rewritten installation instructions detailing how to flash a full build, flash an update from within OTA Update Center, and flash an update manually. The FAQ was also re-organized and a few more were added. Please be sure to read through them.

This version will be released as a full version and as an update. The update requires you to have Conquest: Singularity 8.5 installed or it will refuse to flash. Anyone already on 8.5 should receive a notification via OTA update center that an update is available.

As always, if you run into any problems, please post here.

The following should have been in the changelog as well, but I forgot about these:

  • SYSTEM: Renamed "Geometry" lock screen style to "Tension"
  • SYSTEM: Replaced small circle in Tension lock screen style with lock/unlock icons
  • APPS: Replaced AOSP-themed TouchWiz Contacts/Dialer/In-Call with stock versions
-----------------------------------
EDIT 09/09: Full version zip has been updated to correct an issue with the cyanogenmod keyboard being inadvertently included. No version update or other changes. If you are already on 9.0 with a functioning system, it is not necessary to download this.

  • SYSTEM: Rewrote mobile data tile label code so that it mirrors the carrier label in the notification drawer
  • SYSTEM: Prevented mobile data type indicator from showing over roaming indicator on signal cluster when roaming
  • SYSTEM: Prevented mobile data type indicator from showing when sending MMS while connected to Wi-Fi
  • SYSTEM: Enabled Google Search shortcut on AOSP lock screen when shortcuts are set to camera
  • SYSTEM: Enabled navbar search gesture (swipe up from navbar)
  • SYSTEM: Fixed QuantumThemer not working after flashing the release 9 full zip
-------------------------------------------
RELEASE NOTES: I thought I'd have to recompile a few themes after getting the roaming indicator bug fixed but I was able to fix it programmatically rather than thematically so this was not the case. All themes for 9 should be compatible with 9.1 but please let me know if you run into any issues.

EDIT: Must I always eat my words? The Honeycomb Inspiration theme had to be updated due to some tweaks to the signal cluster layout. Please re-download it if its your preferred theme.

  • SYSTEM: Disabled AOSP lock screen shortcuts when lockscreen rotation is enabled
------------------------------------------------
RELEASE NOTES: Turns out theres some screwy code in our base ROM that messes up the AOSP lockscreen shortcuts when the lock screen is in landscape mode. To prevent this, any time lockscreen rotation is enabled, the AOSP lock screen will not display the search or camera shortcuts regardless of the shortcut mode set.
