Alright, I was running LiquidSmooth 4.4.4 rom when I got an OTA update from them. I downloaded it and when to install it, and ever since, my phone will only boot to the liquidsmooth splash screen and just sit there. I tried to use CWM to recover to my last backup, and now it's completely gone as in CWM was never able to be accessed. I'm back to download mode only, not CWM recovery. I figured I'd at least get the phone working and use Odin 3.07 on Windows 8 to flash it. Downloaded drivers for the verizon version of the GS3, installed, rebooted and set to work. Well, Odin won't see my phone. At all. I don't know how to make it connect so I can flash it. Anyone got any advice?

I have kies installed, but it isn't running.
I cannot boot into my phone whatsoever.
I had the usb repaired, and it will charge when plugged in and off.
I don't have the manufacturer's cable, but I have several cables that have worked for file transfers before.

Someone please help. It's been two weeks and I've tried everything I can think of.

1) Try uninstalling drivers reboot put phone into download mode and plug in phone let windows try to install drivers. Keep kies either off or uninstall, kies and odin downt mix well. Another odin tweak is pulling battery obviously when its plugged in.

2) Try different pc or windows version ive seen ppl having troubles with windows 8 and odin. Maybe try different usb hub.

3) It could be the fact that your not using manufactures cable. Its a hit or miss with other cables i mix my cables sometimes on devices and can transfer data but not charge device.

The thing is, is that no matter what computer I plug it into, I get no ding, pop up or anything that would even suggest the computer sees it. I get zilch. The only way i know the USB port works at all is because it'll show that it's charging when the phone is off.

edit
I even used a friend's original cable and a different computer and I got not response saying it was connected.

this is almost always the fix for me when the computer doesnt recognize the phone. My OEM Evo 4G cable works like 99.9999% of the time when the OEM Sammy cable doesnt
