Is my Quadbeat 2 headphones fake?

I recently purchased a Hong Kong unlocked G3 D855 from an Asian seller. The phone is great but the headphones that came with it sounds like crap. I googled some pictures of the Quadbeat 2 and the buttons on it does not look like mines. I'm wondering if the seller switched the originals out for some cheap knock offs. Or does the headphones really sound terrible?

I have some pics here to show what mines look like. The main thing is the volume control piece. Nowhere in Google can I find a Quatbeat 2 that looks like mine, with the + and - engraved instead of sticking out, and the center is suppose to be a dot, not a phone. There also seem to be some defect on the jack piece leading out to the cable. And there is a big piece of spur on the buds when I take the rubber piece off

Can you guys help me confirm that all your headphones does not look like mines?

Good morning from Australia, I can tell you that I have an ORIGINAL phone with the Quad Beats Headphones and they are a little different to yours. I have googled and I can see that your headphones may in fact be knock off's. The inline controls and the LG branding on the back of the incline controls differ to mine and what i assume are originals. There should not be a phone on the middle button, but just a dot, also there is no LG branding on original quad beats inline controls. I am sorry to be the bearer of bad news. Michael

Hi there. I have the Korean version of thr G3 and I have the same earphones as yours.

I just got my LG G3 last week and did not get the chance to test it until today.

It sounded alright though. Can you specify what exactly is wrong with your earphones?

There is a LG logo on the ear pieces (right and left) and on the white wire thingie before the volume controller.

I don't think there's anything wrong with mine per se because I have no idea what an "original" from a sealed box looks/sounds like. I've heard people mentioning that theirs sound decent while others say it's pretty crappy. Mines sound pretty crappy to me. I'm just surprised that a flagship phone would come with such low quality headphones.

My headphones sound great and seem to be perfectly synced with the phone. I looked again and I think maybe, just maybe the reseller may have taken the original out and substituted the original for knock off headphones or clones. They can then sell original as original. This is all purely speculation. I use my jaybird bluebuds x. Hope you can get to the bottom of it. Michael

I'm actually using the EarPods from Apple. I really dislike the plugged ear feel of ear buds. I do like some outside sounds to come through as well. The EarPods so far have the best dynamic range I've ever heard from ear phones. You have to get them to fit right though. I put a set of those foam covers on them and now they fit perfectly and makes a great semi-seal to get good bass.

But sometimes, like on a plane, I do like the buds to block out the sound. I was hoping for some high end buds from a high end phone. Guess I will need to get some other ones... I will do some research on the Max300. Thanks.
