MetroPCS increases data amount for their $40 & $50 plan!!!

They raised the $40 plan from 500MB to 1GB and the $50 from 2.5GB to 3GB.

Boost Mobile also just released a temporary offer to double the data on their plans. They're all really trying to compete with each other to keep/gain customers.

Will we get that automatically, or do we have to switch plans? Back before the smartphone days, I remember Metro improving a plan but making it a different plan code so you had to switch plans to get the new features. All that even though the price was exactly the same.

Think I will stick with my LG Volt with VM. No matter what plan you are on you get unlimited data.

Course after the first 2.5GB they will throttle you. But it's still unlimited.

Your plan well be updated automatically. I checked my plan and I was already upgraded.

You do realize it's the same as metro you hit your limit with 4g then they throttle down it's still unlimited. That's for all yet he plains with the 60 being completely unlimited 4g lte

Still sittiing with my wife on the cdma Samsung Galaxy S3 on the truely unlimited LTE data $40 plan, they are not getting us to switch for a measly 1gb plan.....

lol However when they turn off the jacksonville cdma service if the phone does stop working as a phone maybe we will just keep it as a back up data option. with all the companies and plans going to a "throttled" set up these unlimited data plans will be worth while.
And if the S3 does stop working as a phone its likely we will migrate over to Straight talk $45 plan 3gb before throttle better then $40/1Gb

You're ahead of the curve ... just two days ago T-Mobile announced that MetroPCS is expanding into St. Louis and 9 other cities this month(Click). You can still get an answer to your question, though ... all MetroPCS customers (with the exception of a few CDMA stragglers) are now on the T-Mobile network, so ask T-Mobile people and there's your answer.

And while they're adding cities ... they're also ending CDMA in cities as fast as they can shut 'em down. Las Vegas and Boston went dark last month, Philly in a couple weeks, and the rest will drop like flies until the changeover is complete next Spring (about six months ahead of schedule). I realize it's PrePaid month-to-month, and T-Mobile is offering big discounts and incentives, but they can't just go silent on customers who've been with them for years, can they? Before you answer, remember telephone service is a heavily regulated public utility. I'll bet they're having to at least offer free handsets to users before they shut 'em down.

I am pretty sure it happens automatically. You don't really need to do anything.
