[Official] Version 1 battery life thread

So, 36 hours of usage only as a watch. That's what I was hoping! thanks!
yeah, and at that point you might as well keep it in airplane more until you want to change watch faces. That should drastically improve battery life.

Alright folks, 10:25pm. 29% remaining with Ambient OFF. Compared to 6% with Ambient ON, and I've had a relatively busy night with 18 incoming text messages since 7pm and 8 incoming calls. Plenty of other notifications as well.
I had just killed my third pint of Oatmeal Yeti, so I forgot the moral of the story. With 18.5+ hours with Ambient Off, I will definitely be keeping Ambient On unless I know that I will have a longer than normal day (I.e. early flight out, late night out, etc)

Just by chance...
Are you responding to any of your text messages or setting calendar reminders through your watch, because that's what I use my Gear 2 for (mainly replying to texts) so if you are doing that and getting through the day easily, I'd be okay with this purchase. Thanks in advance.

So I've had my watch since Sunday but I was hiding the charger in my home office since i didn't want the wife to find out I bought it. Walked around for 2 days without her noticing but then she did... as my father once told me "its better to ask for forgiveness than permission". Truer words never spoken.

Anyways the point of that story was that now the charger sits bedside, upstairs and not in my office. So yesterday the watch was on my wrist all day.

I had it on from about 7AM until 10PM. Ambient mode off. Auto brightness. I had Gobsmacks of notifications from Hangouts, Touchdown, Gmail, IRCcloud. Plus I used the countdown timer functions and responded to about 50 text messages via voice response.

I had 33% battery life left on my watch when I put it on the charger. After 15 hours, I had about 7.5 hours left, for a total of more than 22 hours.

NOW THAT'S what I'm talkin' about!
Bring on the inventory, I'm in! (who am I kidding, I was always in I'm just happier about it now)

And while I condone open honesty in all marriages, sometimes that's just the way you've got to roll. Love it. Haha.

Thanks for the good news. Keep it coming, folks.

By the way, I've trained my arm in the motion it takes to trigger the screen on. Its a twist with a bit of elevation. I can get the screen to come on just moving my wrist 100% of the time.

I apologize, is that with Ambient on, or am I misunderstanding? Is ambient when the watch doesn't actually go black, it just stays on dim?

Ambient mode the screen stays dim. If ambient is off, the screen actually turns off and reactivates when you do the gesture to wake it up or you tap the screen.

I've kept ambient off and trained my arm to wake it up as I mentioned above. Ambient mode == Battery Drain.

This.

I forgot to mention that. If I just pick my arm up it might turn on, but if I bend my wrist up it seems to work just about every time.

So 60% of the time it works 100% of the time :D

Fantastic!
With my Gear 2, I'm used to that already. No need to have my watch being on when I'm not interested in looking at it.

So I put my watch on at 7:36AM this morning. Normal use. Not too bad. A couple of text responses, a whole bunch of hangout messages and some meeting reminders.

Threw it on the charger just because I was curious at 3:47pm.

72%

I was expecting less than that honestly. I actually laughed out loud when I saw the number.

If my math is right, you'd around 24 hours, which is fine by me .

It was on there for less than a minute. Put on the charger, saw the number, put it back on my wrist.

I didn't use it as heavily as I had on Wednesday however.

Since it seems that different people with different phones are getting different results for battery life, I guess I'll mention that I use a T-mo Gnote3 and since I work from home, its on wifi pretty much all day.

I don't have twitter or facebook installed (who would want that kind irritation all the time?) but I have some rather chatty friends who sent about... oh... 200 messages in a 3-way hangout yesterday (and everyday for that matter)

I am glad you guy's are getting good battery life because mine is horrible! I have the screen set to off. I took it off the charger today at 12pm, and by 3 pm it was at 13%! Yesterday I got maybe 6 hours... I just reset it and it is now charging... I am using an LG G3, and it seems to drain the hell out of my LG G3... Color me very frustrated and disappointed... I am all ears for any suggestions or tips... Thanks!

Yesterday was my best day yet. I took it off the charger at 7AM put it back on at 11:30pm and I still had 48% left.

There has to be something going on with the bluetooth configurations on different phones. One of the nice side effects of using the 360 to reply to all of my texts is that I'm actually improving the battery life on my Note 3 as well since I'm not constantly turning it on and off.

Yesterday was supposed to be a long full day of wearing it and connectivity. I did wear it for for about 15 hours but I completely forgot to connect to my phone. In all honesty though, it doesn't matter for me. This watch last plenty long enough for me. But like I've said, I'm not a heavy user. I turn a lot of notifications off. My 360 is for looks, time, and to know I received a text or call.

If Moto made it to last a few days with heavy use would I use all the functions? Maybe. But I might get annyoyed from all the notifications from stuff I don't think are really that important.

In summary. If you use it like me you'll easily get a day and a half. If you are a heavy user I think it will still have juice left when you finally take it off. Unless you have one of those days when you go beyond heavy.

Enjoy your 360 everyone.

So ends my battery review of the 360 from a blue collar worker.

Oh I've used that reply function all day long. I think the wait period for you to start talking is too short and you have to adjust a little to that.

You know a nit picky thing I don't like that it doesn't do? Capitalize your first word in a text message.

Oh, that will need to be fixed, haha. I cannot stand that as silly as that sounds. That's an update thing, right? And is the speech to text accurate?

Yeah, hopefully 2.0 (which BGR reported as being released 10/15) will solve little stuff like that.

The speech recognition is quite good. A buddy of mine just ordered his iPhone6 in gold (don't hold it against him, he's a good guy otherwise) and I texted him via voice and said, "You'll look very gangsta" and it did it correctly.

Lol, I won't hold it against him. I put my mother in law into an iPhone because I thought it fit her needs well.... Plus she can bother her son who owns an iPhone for help instead of me, lol.

Very good to hear that there's an update around the corner and even better to hear that the voice recognition is strong. Otherwise it wild be a useless feature. The more I hear the happier in feel about this purchase.
