"Super Backup" only detecting internal memory

I want to do a system backup and restore because my phone has been running like total crap lately.

I downloaded "Super Backup & Restore" but it seems like regardless of where I tell it to look for storage, it's only showing me my internal storage at the top which it says is almost completely full. I just recently put a 16 gb SD card into the phone that has 10 GB free. Why isn't it showing this?

Alternatively is there a better app for backing up and restoring? This one had the best reviews that I saw, and looks like it does everything (apps, contacts & sms messages) in one app.

I'm not certain which app you mean, as I can't see one with exactly that name. But the closest one I can find claims it can back those things up to the SD card rather than to back the SD card up (apps, contacts and messages all live in the internal storage rather than SD).

There's not much need for apps to back up an SD card, because you can just do that over USB or by putting the card in a card reader. And of course you can just remove the card if you want to make sure you don't accidentally wipe it when you reset your phone.

Personally I use Titanium Backup, but that needs root to work. Helium is often recommended as an app backup for unrooted devices - I've used that once, and it worked for me. There are lots of apps which can back up contacts and messages, but app backups are more difficult without root.
