GPS Status' commands to clear assistance data and to "downland" assistance data have never worked on on Epic and don't now. It works on most handsets but not Samsungs method of caching assistance date (ephemeris and almanac). The developer of GPS status has confirmed this.

You are experiencing classic symptoms of intermitant inability to refresh GPS assistance cache, a bug which Samsung is famous for, which has plagued the Epic, and I am testing and preliminarily finding I have this also on EC05.

And you are correct, samsung since EB13 has disabled our prior published ability to force cold starts on epic, a working workaround giving GPS acquisition in 10 seconds 100% of the time for me. I am also rebooting for the moment.

This update

1. No Copy and Paste feature in web browsing.
2. Does not retain settings in call log.
3. Bluetooth button is a "dumb" button now doesnt even take you to the settings to select the device.

4. Once I receive a phone call and hang up or even sometimes while on a call. It will audibly start Ticking, every 5 seconds or so. That drives me the most nuts.

5. The media player portion has deleted the play all selection.

6. You cannot easily go to your list of bookmarks anymore.

7. Not to mention it just stops and restarts itself.

Not to mention the list of quirks I have that are already posted on here.

I want to go back to 2.1 already it may have been a bit slower. but I didnt want to throw it out the window.

My Alarm didn't go off this morning... what a wonderful April Fool's joke.

but it is a problem if it's going to keep happening.

HAHAHA your phone pulled an April Fools joke on its owner... lol

My only real complaint is bad 4G coverage, but thats not the phones fault.

New ISSUE for me..... When I hit my HOME button it goes to anything but my HOME screen. Screen 3 seems to be it's favorite return screen but screen 4 is the Original Home screen....Any suggestions???

Pinch any of the home screens and then you will see them all at once. From there you can set your home screen. Must have gotten changed somehow.

i have this happen to me but when i'm turning on the phone. it goes to screen 3. it wasn't like this before when i first upgraded to EC05 but its been happening since i installed ADW launcher ex. do you have this app??

Toyman's Idea worked for me. Pinching the screen to view all 7 and picking the one you want works.

Here are the things I've been observing:

1. Wi-Fi won't ever re-connect. It only works the first time it is turned on after I turn my phone on & won't ever connect again. To get wifi to work again I have to completely restart the phone. I've tried turning data on & off as well as resetting the radio and nothing works.

2. My market won't allow me to click into apps. I can open the market app, scroll through apps, but anytime I try to view info on an app it brings up a message that says "The requested item could not be found."

So far after updating to 2.2:

1) Phone randomly reboots
2) Phone randomly freezes up and vibrates uncontrollably (need to pull
battery)
3) Bluetooth works, but most of the time freezes the phone if left on after
disconnecting from a paired connection (need to pull battery)
4) Screen constantly flipping to horizontal if I even think about moving it,
then forced to shake it like an epileptic to get it back to vertical
5) Slight delay in screen waking up after hitting wakeup key
6) Battery drains at a ridiculous rate vs 2.1 with the same settings & apps
7) TWS bug STILL not fixed and need to do silly airplane mode toggle after
reboot!!
8) DRM service STILL needs to be manually killed after reboot

If you have problems, you MUST hard reset with the hardware keys to clear the Dalvik cache. You cannot do this from the menu.

reboot!! -- Most have reported this doesn't drain battery like originally thought, but I still do it just out of peace of mind. Since I have a stable ROM, I usually go a few days (4-5) without rebooting my phone, so it's not a big issue for me personally.
8) DRM service STILL needs to be manually killed after reboot -- This is normal too, it's not a bug

The rest of the stuff seems to come from a bad flash or something like that. Assuming you got this OTA from Sprint, that could explain a lot. As Engineer said, a hard reset will probably fix a lot of this stuff, but you'll lose a lot in the process. You'll basically be starting with a fresh phone with 2.2 Froyo on it. Personally, it sounds like you're having quite a few issues, and it would be worth the time to wipe it clean, and basically start over again.
