Hi my Verizon Samsung Galaxy S5 wont update to Kitkat after unrooting from the first version of towelroot. It goes for about 30 seconds then says error and reboots. Also when I turn on my GS5 it still says custom android, although I unrooted from Towelroot. I unrooted using Superusers full unroot option about a month ago. I want to know if there is a better way to fully unroot. I want to be able update my phone, especially for Android L.
Thanks

Towel Root is in a funny state right now. The developer that made it now works for Google, apparently to try and patch the very holes he took advantage of to develop TR. So version 3 is the latest, and the last. So you have to be on the NC2 rom/kernal to use it.

I believe the way to unroot is ODIN over a stock rom, like NHA. Once there, take the OTA to NI2.

If you want to re-root once on NI2, Odin the NC2 Kernal on, run the TR app and then ODIN over the NI2 kernal.

Ok so I have done some more research online on how to fully unroot. I read that you need to have busybox and its files completly uninstalled to be able to unroot.

1)I can see a busybox file in the xbin folder under system in es file explorer, so can I go ahead and just delete the busybox folder or do something else.

2) In superuser it says I have a "root shell", what does that mean?

3) Remember I cant get root access from any apps and root checker says I am free of root, so dont tell me to use apps/tools that require root, because I cant.
Thanks.
