How are you using the Moto 360

I didn't know when someone sends you a picture it will pop up on your watch! Talking about awesome.

I'm sitting there with my lady and her great looking sister with my Moto 360 on my wrist. I have a group text conversation going on with my friends on my phone. My phone is paired to my watch and I'm checking the messages and responding accordingly. My buddy says he wants certain pictures of my lady's 35 year old sister. One of my friends wanted me to hook him up with the sister and asked for a shot of her you know what top side. That message appeared on my watch as my girlfriend was sitting next to me. I see her looking at my watch as it's facing her almost upside down on my wrist. I look at the message, swipe it away, then unpair my phone from the watch...LOL. I told my buddy you are an idiot because the girls are sitting here with me. Thank goodness her sister was sitting on the far couch but I'm sure my lady didn't read the message upside down and there was no name mentioned in the text message. Oh man, be careful single guys...be careful.

It arrived yesterday. Not pleased with the grey band - has a bit of a lavendar hue to it. Shoulda chosen black. I had planned to replace with brown anyway, but black would have been nice to have for more formal occasions.

Battery is at 71% after 6 hours. I'm resisting the urge to tweak for the next week - want to get to know the device in OEM form, first.

The step counter seems ridiculously inaccurate to me. How tell G Now to stop telling me about that? And my heart rate?

Hi Merrill, thanks for your observations!

If you can find someone that's selling their OEM black band, see if you can do that. I think the black leather band on the silver watch would be sharp.

For your heart rate, open Android Wear on your PHONE. Scroll down to "Show me my heart rate." Set it to FIT instead of Moto 360 Heart Rate. That seemed to cut down on the notifications for me. For the pedometer? Who knows! LOL. It looks like disabling those completely might be an option in upcoming patches.

Time for a follow-up. I'm crazy busy this week, so I'm getting the stock experience - haven't installed anything. I've tried to turn off some of the notifications I don't want (thanks!). I get a few dozen notifications per hour. Took a 20-min drive with navigation. I put it on at 6a this morning. 16 hours later I'm at 45%. I consider that pretty good. Will see how that changes as I start using it more.

I just received my Moto 360 (my first Android Wear device ever). I have not had time to sit down and play with it much over the last couple of days. Question for all of you:

What is the one best example you have of the what and why your watch is a valuable part of your day? (a.k.a. something you would recommend to someone else as the reason to get a Moto 360)

Thanks!
