Root [ROM]Stock Sprint rom

This is the stock Sprint rom in a flashable zip format (like other roms).
It comes in odex, what your phone came with and deodex, which is easier to theme.

These can be used to restore your phone back to stock, use them as the basis of your own rom (just like Aeneas) or use it for parts.
Please remember to thank those who help you accomplish your ideal rom.

Important Notes:
1. Unfortunately, at the moment, the deodex version is not booting. If you intend to build a rom from this, you might want to experiment with this, and then swap out the odex files later when I get it working. Some devs prefer odex for the speed, even if it makes it more difficult to modify.

2.I have no way to verify if 3g is working since my phone isn't activated. If you flash this, please let me know if 3g works. It should.

3. At the moment, your mac address will be altered. Once I get the deodexed version booting, I will correct that and release an Aeneas rom and possibly Sprint version of Harmonia as well. For now I just wanted to get this up for you guys and let you know I haven't forgotten about you.

Ran it just to check it out. Ran smooth but wifi got a error. Only wiped data, cache and dalvik cache.

3g does work.

I think I will download this and make a themed version for sprint users. No time table though.

VM roms are posted elsewhere.

I'm not sure why you would flash a Sprint rom when Virgin users have far more, well sorted options for roms than Sprint users do at the moment (Amazing, I know!). Will they fix the error? If you have a recovery installed and can get there, yes, it should. No recovery means you will have to resort to other means.

This is just one more reason I hate not having root and a recovery on the phone. Without it, when you get stuck, you have limited options. Users who root and rom have a plethora of options to fix problems.

Then I'll give it another try later tonight and see if anything changes. It's hard for me to stay away from the first Sprint based rom. Especially from a dev that does great work.

This is just stock.
In fact, it's actually worse than stock because it has the mac address error. This is a starting point for those wanting to make a rom, or need to flash back to stock for some reason, such as those playing with the Virgin roms.

If you want something exciting you will have to wait for a modded rom.

probably shouldnt go here..but i am..lol. my plans for the sprint themed rom is something from a theme i used to use on optimus v one of r3ds themes. i need to contact first for permission to use it. but i dont think it will be a difficult thing to accomplish.

Sprint is going to be rolling out an OTA update to fix MMS issues later this month. Their schedule points the updates beginning to go out on the 19th. I'm not sure how it'll impact users with this ROM, but I'm sure you'll want to add the update in when it hits. I don't know if this is going out to VM users as well. I got an email from Ting yesterday outlining the fix schedule.

I will hold off on the other versions and wait for that.

Out of curiosity, were you ever able to fix the mac address and get it deodexed?

And, also out of curiosity, is the only difference between Stock VM and stock Sprint the kernel/boot img?

This is for Sprint, not for Virgin Mobile. Do not flash it.

I'm trying to restore an Optimus Elite/Sprint back to stock. The link for the Sprint stock rom is dead.. "The file you requested is not found"... Anybody have a copy of it? Or another location to download it??

Hi, I am having trouble putting this on my phone...my fault entirely because I have no clue what I am doing. The situation is that I switched from VM to Ringplus but apparently data won't work and it has something to do with the phone being VM. So my phone needs to be sprint and I thought I could make it that way by putting this on there. I guess I don't know how to do that, though.

Everything I have read says that I can do this without rooting my phone, so I downloaded and put the zip file on my phone (I even tried it with putting the unzipped files on my phone). I go into recovery mode and choose the install from SD card option (there isn't an SD card in it so it gives an error and then goes to the main directory where everything is located on the phone and then I select the zip file. It says it can't do anything with it. What am I doing wrong? Please help me!

found instructions here and there and finally got it installed. I am getting the wifi error, though. Won't turn on at all and just says error underneath. Also, the ip address is 0.0.0.0 and the mac address says unavailable...no clue what to do.

i am not sure if my data issue (code 67) is fixed because I have to have wifi to do the profile update to get my data working...
