I was ready to buy the Nexus 6 until the price was announced. $650-$700 is a helluva lot of money.

I just bought a LG G3 on T-Mobile and finished paying it off for about the same price. With that phone I get a 13MP camera, QHD display, 32MB internal memory AND microSD card slot with user replaceable battery. If I'm going to use my phone as my point-and-shoot camera I absolutely need a microSD card. I just took 3000 photos over my last vacation. Being able to pop in a spare battery and be back to 100% battery charge anywhere beats a rapid 15 minute plug in charger. No question.

Only thing the Nexus 6 would give me is the stock Android updates. But as much as I love stock Android, my LG G3 does just fine on KitKat. besides my spare Nexus 5 will get Lollipop.

The Nexus 6 went from an automatic buy to a "let me compare it to other flagship phones".

I was playing with a Note 4 today. Nice hardware. If only I didn't come to dislike Touchwiz so much. Honestly, right now I find myself wishing I had an invite to buy the OnePlusOne.

I would have considered it if it was smaller, but not thrilled about the size.
Conversely I'm positively thrilled with the size. I've waited a year for a high quality Android with a 6"display.

This may not be the best analogy, but it's like the difference between reading about the new car your interested in, only to find its not what you expected once you road test it at the dealership.

I really enjoy my Nexus 5. Yet I'd not only like a larger display, it would be a great benefit.

So I bought a 5.5" LG G3. on paper I thought it was just what I needed, but once I got one and used it the size was still not large enough. Having a 7" Nexus 7.2 (2013) I could guess that a 6" would be terrific. Once I found the dimensions for the Nexus 6 I knew it will be as close to perfect as I could ask for.

I'm a very eager buyer once it's available. :)

As a Verizon customer, yes, buying even though I'm not thrilled about the size.

The price is justified for a more premium experience. People want their cake and to eat it, too. But this is device with premium specs and looks to have premium build quality as well. I wouldn't be surprised if this was originally intended as an "Android Silver" device, though that's all conjecture.

But to review (at least from a Verizon customer perspective relative the the gnex experience):

- higher price should hopefully also mean better build quality
- the gnex radio/antenna design was trash. moto excels at radios and reception (woot!)
- updates: there's only one US version so no gnex rigmarole on updates
- unlocked device I can play with and root/ROM/etc on Verizon without hacks like Loki/etc, yes!

Just happy to have a VZW Nexus that (for all appearances) will be a REAL nexus this time around. Not happy with the size, but even with my small-to-medium sized hands, I expect I'll get used to it.

I'm still rocking my Gnex on Verizon. This little baby is still kicking. I'm going into the Verizon store when they have the Note 4 and the Nexus 6, but I'm leaning towards the Nexus obviously. I'm not totally against Touchwiz, but I prefer the pure lollipop experience. Plus, on Verizon who knows how long it is going to take the Note to get lollipop.

My question is for you Verizon guys that buy off contract - how does that work? Do you just buy the phone for $650 and keep you current pricing and data plan? I'm just not sure how buying off contract actually works.

Yes, if you pay full price you keep your current plan. Unless you want something different just tell them. I'm guessing you have unlimited data?

Yes, I have unlimited data. That is why I was thinking of buying off contract if that would allow me to keep my unlimited data. As far as I know, if you buy a new phone from Verizon on contract then you lose the unlimited data

The leaked price on the att website of 49 for a Nexus 6 seems exactly right. The device is $649 off contract and the additional monthly charge per line with att is $25 for 24 months when you get a subsidized phone. 25x24=600+49=$649. So yeah, its six-fitty no matter how you slice it.

That's a nice dream you are having :D

It's not crazy expensive, but it's probably a little too much for what is essentially a bigger Moto x. It's awesome that it will be available on Verizon, but other than timely updates, I can't see paying as much for this as a note 4. If this phone had a replaceable battery, maybe I would've given it a serious look.
Am I the only one that carries an external battery pack. More juice, don't have to remove my case and cover and the most annoying part temporarily interrupted use due to rebooting

I am not sure. I am hoping by some miracle that Google comes out with it at a cheaper price due to subsidies. If it stays at that price point, I don't know. I can afford it, but do I really want to? I also need to see what AT&T will do to it. Will it be just like it is in the Play store fully unlocked, or will it have carrier bloat. Still to many questions that need to be answered.
Phones are not any cheaper with carrier subsidies. They just work it into ur plan. I'm on t mo so doesn't matter to me. I plan on paying it up front

Oh no doubt it will be perfectly acceptable for most people. Just to give you an idea of my usage patterns though, I would swap out the battery on my note 3 at least twice a day sometimes 3. Basically, there isn't a phone on the market that could get me through a day on a single charge.
I'm a pretty heavy user. Had 21 hours with 2% left and 5.5 hours screen time. Wthell r u doing with ur phone ;))

I have been trying to figure which way I'm going to go: Edge or this. Honestly, I'm a little tired of Samsung and Verizon (Currently, S4 on Verizon). Because of Verizon's stupidity with the N7, my tablet is on AT&T. I could easily add a phone to that plan. Additionally, I'm up for an upgrade with Verizon, so I have options. It's Samsumg's move in my book, but they better not wait too long, or I'll go N6.

I'm just really hoping that although the specs are great, I want to know how people's real world usage is like. I'm also hoping the Edge isn't a risk taking mess.

Another thing I really have to consider is, I have a Fitbit Flex. Works great on my S4; don't know if it will on N6...doubt it will.
Samsung would b amazing if they would heavily ease up on touch wiz and get rid of that hideous wanna b Apple home button. Just my thoughts :))

No way that would never fly while I'm at work, but I could see situations where it would come in handy. Battery swapping ain't bad; I could duo my nite 3 battery in about 30 seconds and be on my way.

I do everything on my phone lol. Watch movies, browse the web, Bluetooth music, basically run my business with it, etc...
