1+1 Pre-Order Announcement

During a limited time window, you will be able to place an order for the OnePlus One. If we have the items in stock, we’ll ship immediately. If we don’t, it will automatically become a pre-order.

Sounds like the pre-order option is temporary - since the blog entry didn't say, does anyone know when it will start and end?

The invite system is finally going away, hopefully for good. They start taking pre-orders on October 27th.

OnePlus One pre-orders are just around the corner. To make things a little easier, you can go ahead and get your order just the way you want it. Save your cart, mark your calendar, and relax. You've got this.

Due to the technical difficulties with the first pre-order session, OnePlus is giving their customers another crack at it:
Besides deciding that an apology was in order, OnePlus has decided to give consumers a second chance to pre-order its flagship phone. So on November 17th, starting at 10am EST, another OnePlus One pre-order period will begin.

As OnePlus promised, pre-orders will be open again on Nov 17th, for one hour only as before. They will be starting at 4pm GMT (8am PST or 11am EST).

Like before, you can go to this address and prepare your pre-order by adding the phone to your cart, as well as entering your billing and shipping information. If you do all of this in advance, then come November 17 pre-ordering the handset will become a one-click affair.

Pre-ordering will net you a place in line to get a OnePlus One (and you'll get a shipping estimate). Though if you get an invite before yours ships, you can use that and the handset will be sent to you immediately. You can also cancel your pre-order at any time, if you change your mind.

I've read elsewhere (I can't remember where now) that they've significantly beefed up their servers to handle the load, and they will not be charging for the devices until they are ready to ship. Accessories will also be on sale.
