Text message backup

I'm looking for a text and SMS backup app. Willing to pay up to $10 though I can't imagine any apps cost that much. Just got an Amazon credit I want to use.

I really want an app that backs up texts into .txt, .doc, .csv or other easy-to-read files, and also backs up MMS. I don't want an app that just backs up into a single large proprietary-format file. Cloud backup is a plus but not a must.

Any recommendations?

This might be worth a try.

- Backup SMS Messages in XML format.
- Backup created locally on the device with options to automatically upload to Email, Google Drive or DropBox using the Add-On app.
- Choose a scheduled time to automatically backup.
- Backup format is independent of the Android version so the messages can be easily moved from one phone to another, irrespective of the Android version.
- Option to select which conversations to backup.
- View/Restore all Messages or only selected conversations.
- Delete all SMS Messages on the Phone.
- Email a backup file.
- The XML can then be converted to other formats, and can also be viewed on a computer.
- Tested on Android v1.5 to v4.4.2Please note that MMS (Picture/Audio/Video messages) support is currently in BETA.
The only issue is that last line.

Don't know if this is what you are looking for or if this will work for you, but, I'm currently using a free app called SMS Backup+. What it does is it creates folders in your gmail for calls & sms messages and then saves these messages in their perspective folders. This info can then be viewed in your gmail account on both your computer and mobile device(s). Hope this helps.
