It's all a big mess

I've always loved the standard
keyboard on my G2, nothing came close in my opinion ... some may disagree but I always understood what would happen next - it all just seemed logical. And the little things like the tap and delete individual letters, rather than the hold to magnify bull on the iPhone, or the space and them backspace to keep the word you've typed was an easy method of ignoring the Auto correct suggestions

BUT NOW !! OMG the kit kat update has ruined it all. The auto correct is a pain, less responsive and never considers surrounding keys to make things easier and accurate for once. But this is what really annoys me ...

So I'd be typing along and the ac would jump in and correct some perfectly acceptable word. Now at this point I would just hit backspace and off I'd go again to type my heart out. But with kitkat the ac remains active and keeps changing the bloody word( let's say cat) . So I tap on the word as an acceptance and them jump to where I left off to continue typing to which the keyboard reacts to in a ridiculous way. It would simply take the AC suggestion (hat )and paste it where I tapped the word initially , making it something like cahatt ... could someone tell me how to change this back to as it was otherwise I'm get rid of my LG for good

Back while using jelly I'd finish typing and word and go back once and add the inverted commas at the top where the suggestions come in ... but now the ac kicks in and gives me suggestions on an already finished word, so I would press space and back space to ignore ac but Noooo, that feature was removed so I have to go to the extras to add the inverted comma which would be fine it it didn't add a pointless space in between it and the word (I'm used to word docs so to me that looks shabby) so I'd delete the space, its all good right ? No ... cos once I carry on typing it would add the space in again
(Just while I was typing this actually I missed out the 'in ' from the previous sentence and typed in after, but accidentally wrote again twice so I decided to delete the first again, when the keyboard assumed' inagain' was a word so I added a space to which it pasted ' againagain' )

Uurrrgghh please help !!!!
