4.4.4 on Verizon

My battery life on 4.4.2 was GREAT, then 4.4.3 made my battery drain very quickly. I posted about this, (cant find my post), but 4.4.4 has my battery lasting much longer than 4.4.3. With 4.4.3, I take it off the charger at 5AM at 100%, and by 5PM it would be down to 32% with VERY minimal use. Now at 5PM I have about 64% left with the same use. For me, 4.4.4 has fixed my battery issue. Unrooted Verizon M8.

Would anyone who has installed 4.4.4 be willing to put it through a vigorous battery test and comment on the outcome? Did they manage to fix some of the quick drain issues that became prevalent with the 4.4.3 update?

Thanks,
Kratos

I was at 85% after 10.5 hrs of lite use on Friday. Going to wait till the weekends over to really put it through it's paces.

I'll say that 4.4.4 is running great. First ota I haven't ditched for ROMS yet. The added file manager and flashlight were much needed.batt life is a lot better with Bucks 4.4.4 Kernel using stock settings. Right now I fully debloated the system and tweaks the nav key images and running xposed and I'll say all is well. Atleast Verizon gave a little love in this update😃

I usually always do a factory reset after an OTA update, and I probably will eventually, but this time I may see how it acts. I am noticing something weird, or I may just be going crazy, but is anyone noticing scrolling acting a little weird? It seems like it is a little bit jumpy/hesitating now. I am probably losing it, but figured I would mention it

I just discovered one thing at least for me. my 4g reception has increased dramatically. I am in a dead spot for 4g coverage where i live. I can get 1 or 2 bars but the speed is horrible. usually 1 down and .2-.5 up. Well check this out from the same exactly location. I can't see it being a coincidence that they upgraded towers the same exact time I did the OTA

I got the update this morning. Haven't factory reset yet, do I need to? What the heck even changed and why should I care avoid the "eye experience"?

You shouldn't need to factory reset. You should care because you will need to be on 4.4.4 to get the update to Lollypop.
This is much more than a "eye experience" update. New firmware, new radio, new hboot, new kernel, and new Android version (4.4.3 to 4.4.4)..
Also be aware that if your already s-off you will keep it but you won't be able to s-off running 4.4.4, at least not yet.

Battery= not better. Charging faster= yes. I'd rather have a longer lasting battery then it charging faster. Phone has become a disappointment in this aspect. I use to get incredible battery life. I may turn off the percentage notifier, that may help my sanity.

I found the same thing. Battery life down. haven't done an FDR yet, but may this afternoon to see if it helps. Will report back in a day or 2.
