I don't think they can legally do that anymore.

I'm starting to think it will be identical no matter if you buy from the Play Store or from Verizon. What will control the minor software differences and pre-installed apps is the sim card you insert.

I truly hope you're correct.

Last year when buying my Nexus 5 from the Play Store the only choice was color and capacity.

This year on the dedicated site for Nexus 6, you'll notice they display logos for the carriers as well as the Google Play logo. That's what is making me wonder.

#2 is ridiculous. I already pay for Play Music. When I pay for my Nexus, why can't I get the same benefit as someone who also buys the phone? That means my Nexus will cost me $120 more than anyone that hasn't subscribed to Google Play Music. Why not reward those that have already been a subscriber. SMH

Nexus 6 Google Play(™) Music Unlimited Offer

Terms:

1. Promotion only open to users who are residents in the United States who have purchased a Nexus 6 in their country of residence on or before December 31, 2014 from Google Play.
