That's one of the downfalls of carrier exclusives...There definitely won't be options like you'll find with say the galaxy series or the iPhone. Anymore though, I've been perfectly happy with the generic offerings on eBay. I bought a $6 case for my droid DNA and it held up great the entire time I owned the phone.

I got a speck case for my maxx. The phone was actually TOO thin for me, lol, and I like how this added a thicker feel and grip to to smooth back, and also kept the front screen and camera lens on the back lifted off surfaces when I put the phone down. Hoping for something similar, and also one that doesn't cover the front speaker at all.

I know it's not out yet, but I'm already dreading the pathetic choice of aftermarket cases and holsters, not to mention the sucky Verizon ones. Seidio doesn't even have plans yet on the website for the Moto X

I've been using the sucky Verizon cases and screen protectors since my first smartphone, the Droid Incredible. I always use their TPU (high gloss silicon on their site) and their clear screen protectors, and when my phones have been retired they look like the day I bought them. I use the TPU case because it gives the cushion of a silicon case, but it doesn't have the rubbery feel of a straight silicon case. Like a cross between silicon and hard plastic. But that's just me.

i bought the 64gb model today. It has the ballistic Kevlar backing. the three model phones they make all have a different back on them... Why:thinking::thinking::thinking:

I tried on the otter-box commuter and the Incipio (spelling???), that they had, and it fit a little funny.
From what I was able to conclude was most cases will fit great on the plastic, or smooth backed phones, but may be an issue with the "Ballistic Kevlar":thinking:

As I read it there are four models ...
32GB Kevlar Black
32GB Kevlar Red
32GB Ballistic Nylon Black
64GB Ballistic Nylon Black

You apparently got the 64GB Ballistic Nylon Black ... right?

I posted this in another thread: I purchased the turbo on release day and was surprised to find they already had a lifeproof case! Fit didn't quite work out though. The mic was off center and covered and the 'home' button was cut too close so that it was hard to tap. Took it back to store and tried another; either the first a dud, or LP has quickly fixed these problems. I fit a OB Defender to the phone for a test and found it fit quite well 2 days after release of Turbo.

That's incredibly annoying that some manufacturers do not properly "beta" test their cases before release to the public. I'm always cautious of 1st week released cases for new phones. Give it about 2-3 weeks and by that time you should have much better selection for cases and those specs should be refined to match the actual phones.

Side rant: I've found that your simple TPU cases provide the same level of protection that Otterbox and other "premium" cases offer at a fraction of the cost.

This will be the first time going without a case. The phone is water resistant, the Ballistic Nylon on the back seems tough and it's got gorilla glass 3 on the front. Not to mention Verizon will replace a cracked screen once over 2 years for free. If I would ever crack the screen, I might put a case on the second one, but for now I'm going naked!

Does anyone know what the specifics of the screen replacement are? If you bring a phone with a cracked screen to a Verizon Wireless store, will they swap with a certified refurbished device from the store stock, like the Apple Store does if you have Applecare+ on an iPhone, or will they just send it off to Motorola for repair? If it's the latter, what is the turnaround time?

I got an Otterbox Defender and a 3-pack of the Verizon plastic anti-scratch screen protectors for my Turbo Ballistic Nylon 64GB at the Verizon store when I got the phone on the 30th. I checked the fit and it is perfect. A lot better than the Defender I had gotten for the iPhone 6 that I returned. It looks like they had a real Turbo or mock-up to do the case design. The headphone and micro USB flaps are not too stiff and the jacks are perfectly centered in the case.

After testing the fit I carefully removed the built-in screen protector of the Defender. It is junk! It doesn't fit against the screen and the openings at the top and bottom can allow dirt to get in. It also reduces the touch screen response. I cleaned up the residual adhesive from the front piece with GOO GONE and then washed it with hand soap and water and dried it. I installed one of the Verizon clear protectors and put the phone back into the case. The Defender belt clip serves as a "kick stand".

Regarding the Ballistic Nylon: Any dust or dirt is easily brushed away. I fiddled with the "smooth" back models in the store and they seem slippery plus they aren't available in 64GB.

The Shell Holster with Kick Stand case is not as nice as the Defender: It is difficult to slip the phone holder part out of the belt clip holster; You can only slide the phone/kick stand part phone face into the holster; It only slides in in one direction and orientation. I have seen reviews of this type case where the belt clip tends to snap off at inopportune times. The Otterbox can hold the phone in either direction.
