To ME, if the battery last 'all day plus some' then that's completely acceptable, and *I* wouldn't use any low power mode.. I expect to have to charge a smartphone every night. If I don't have to charge it during the day then I'm a happy camper.
My N4 has been getting better battery life than the S4 I had previously. The S4 would be in the 30% range at the end of the day, the N4 has been ending up at the 50% range.

Bluetooth, WiFi and GPS always on. Normally connected to WiFi. One widget that updates hourly. No live wallpaper (those thing are cool, but battery killers).

I am baffled how some people are having "trouble" with battery life on the Note 4. I find battery life to be outstandingly good. I run "Juice Defender" in balanced mode, leave Wi-Fi on all the time, usually leave 4G off, switch off screen brightness auto & instead set at about 2/3 Max. With this setup, I can actively use Note 4 for 4 hours daily, and still have 50% or more left. Further, the fast charger is incredibly quick at restoring the battery, more than twice as fast as previous phone charging. I estimate battery life to be at least 2x as good as my previous smartphone which had a smaller screen - altogether very impressive.

I can do it with "medium" use, but I have everything set up the way I like it including brightness (no auto.) Not hard to do with a 4k res and all features (gps\bt\etc) enabled, but considering the thing charges to full in like an hour I can't complain.

I am also coming from the Note II, which I always used power-saving on, and I have yet to use power saving on the Note 4, let alone it's insane ULTRA power saving. Just putting that out there as well.

one thing i really like is the power save mode and ultra power save mode on this note 4. I think this will help me not charge it as much at night too?

For those of you who have used it through a day or so how much do these really help?

For example could I put it on ultra or power saving mode all day and it still be like 90 percent? or put it in that mode all night and it be like 70 or better?

This plus removeable battery and i can keep my droid4 as a spare may sway me this way. Plus the turbo does not have power saving mode maybe it will with the update.

I've only had my Note 4 for about a day and yeah I've noticed bad battery life to. I'm coming from the Note 3 and had great battery life on that. I could unplug in the morning at 100% with moderate usage and by 4pm still have about 60% battery life. With the note 4, I inplug at 100% did some set-up on the phone just within several minutes its already at 90%. This is with most of the synch turned off and screen at auto.

I would bet it gets better as you use it and have everything set up. I go from 7am to 10pm and still have 30% left at that point. All radios except NFC on and everything sycning. Mostly txt'n but a few calls and nav.

As per reviews, battery life has been great for my Note 4. It was fine even before killing the bloat and sensor bling and now even better. I leave mine in power save mode and only turn that off if playing high CPU hungry MAME or PSP games.

Even with power save mode on, apps, Flash video is smooth, 3D Android games and ditto for all other emulators. Again, if you are using data in weak signal areas, THAT is usually the killer. That and if have the display set real bright and mainly white in the content.

Wild this device with stock battery is better than my rooted and debloated S4 with 5200 MAH battery. I thought that was great.

This is the first smart phone I've ever had where I could go two days with normal use and actually have it still have a charge at the end of the second day. Every other phone I've had would be dead sometime in the second day.
I don't do any power saving, bluetooth, WiFi and GPS are always on. I have two widgets that update hourly. And I NEVER use an active wallpaper - many of them a very cool but they are really hard on a battery.

Been using mine for a couple of weeks now, and I can say I am amazed at how much better Samsung has made this device than previous Galaxy devices.

I am leaving GPS on all the time, which was a cardinal sin with previous Galaxy devices I owned. I still toggle WiFi on/off as needed, as well as Bluetooth. I rarely use BT, so I see no need to make it use resources "just in case."

I actually allowed the FB app and messenger to install on this device--again, something that would have been a battery killer on my previous devices.

I almost ordered the spare battery kit for my phone before I got it--after all, every other Galaxy phone I've had it has been necessary if I wanted to get through a day with normal use.

I am finding that I can leave this phone off charger in the office (something else unheard of with my old devices) use GPS all day, and get home at night with anywhere from 40-60% battery.

I have had it with me in the field all day hunting (my S4 needed a battery swap by lunch time if I was hunting with it) and had no need for a backup charge or battery swap.

I am impressed by the battery performance of this device. It blows away any other smartphone that I have used, or seen others use. My wife has to practically keep her iPhone plugged in whenever we're near an outlet the battery life has gotten so poor on hers. (I realize that her iPhone is probably in need of a battery replacement.)

For those of you that are struggling with battery life, I hope you're able to figure out what happened with the apps you've installed, settings, or whatever.

I am genuinely pleased with the performance I'm getting in mine.

Do any of you have battery monitoring apps or cache cleaning apps running that might help? I just got my note 4 yesterday and after 7 hours of being inplugged with moderate usage I roughly have 40-45% left. Maybe in time it gets better but I honestly didn't expect this bad of battery life. My note 3, after this same usage, would probably have 60-70% left

Hello,

When I first got my Note 4, the battery life was great. I would charge it and then leave it on overnight, and over about 8 hours I would consistently only lose 4%. Now it drains almost 5x that, losing about 19% every time. The main culprit seems to be the Android System. This just started happening all of a sudden and I don't know what could have caused it. I did a factory reset, but as far as I can tell, that hasn't helped. I'll have to leave it on overnight to be sure. What can I do? Is anyone else having this problem?

Thanks.
